Clydesdale Bank Manager of the Month for February

Motherwell Manager Craig Brown has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month for February.

Craig Brown’s impressive return to club management with Motherwell continued throughout February as the former Scotland boss guided the Lanarkshire club to a five match unbeaten league run.  Brown, who has lost just one league match since taking charge at Fir Park, led the Steelmen to three victories and two draws during February conceding just a single goal in the month – a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw against Rangers.

Having previously been named the Clydesdale Bank Manager of the Month for January, Craig Brown has now become the first manager to retain the award this season.

Clydesdale Bank Player of the Month for February

Rangers defender David Weir has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for February.

Veteran stopper Weir turned in a string of fine performances during February as Rangers conceded just one league goal leaving the Champions in a commanding position at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League table.  Noting the Rangers captain’s consistency and his importance to the title hopes of the current league leaders, the panel of Scottish football experts felt Weir was a more than deserving winner of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month award for February.

Clydesdale Bank Young Player of the Month for February

Kilmarnock’s on loan striker Chris Maguire has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month for February.

The 21-year-old has made quite an impression since joining the Ayrshire club on loan from Aberdeen playing his part in Kilmarnock’s rise from second bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League to ninth – six points clear of bottom side Falkirk.  Maguire, who started in each of the club’s five February league fixtures, scored three times in the month including the winner on his Kilmarnock debut against Celtic.
