Registration
Q How do I register?
You don't need to register to view the cbfootball website, but if you want to take part in any of our competitions or the voting for the monthly awards, or the Score Selector game we need to know who you are so we can call you if you are a winner. Registration is very simple, and you only need to do this once.If you are already registered for cbfootball, but not for Score Selector, login using the Quick login section at the top right of the page, then go to Score Selector home page and click the “Sign up Now” button.
This asks you to enter a Screen Name which will be used to show you in the league tables. This cannot be changed once the season starts, so think carefully before you choose this. This has to be unique, and approved by our team before it will show on the system.If you are not registered at all, click on the “Sign up now” button on the Score Selector home page, and this will take you to the registration page.All you need to enter is your first name, surname, a contact telephone number, your email address, a password, and which Clydesdale Bank Premier League team you support.
Our web provider, Lateral Line, will email you a link to verify that your email address is correct, and when you click on the link provided in the email this activates your registration and you can then logon whenever you want to enter our competitions.If you want to register for Score Selector at the same time, we also need you to add a screen name and your date of birth.
Q I haven’t received my verification email.
When you register, an email will be sent to you from our web provider Lateral Line (). You have to click on the link within this email to activate your registration.
If this email does not appear in your email inbox, please check your junk or spam folders, as it may have been placed there instead.If the email is nowhere to be found, then please contact us through the website.
Q What is my username?
Your username is the email address that you registered with. This is unique to you.
Q I’ve already registered for cbfootball, do I need to register for Score Selector?
Yes, we need you to register your chosen screen name. Your cbfootball registration is used for Score Selector, so your username for log in to play Score Selector is still your email address.
The screen name that you choose will be the name shown in the players league table, and this cannot be changed once the season is underway, so please make sure that you are happy with your choice.
Q Why do I need to tell you my phone number when I register?
We need your phone number so we can contact you if you win a prize on the site. Please keep this number updated, as if we cannot reach you in a certain amount of time, you forfeit your right to win the prize. See T&Cs; for more details.

Q How do I log in to use Score Selector?
You have to be registered for cbfootball and Score Selector to be able to play. If you are registered, you can log in on the cbfootball or Score Selector home pages. At the top right hand side of the page is a “Quick Login” box where you enter the email address you registered with, and your password. Then click on the red “Log me in” button.
Q I have forgotten my password, how do I log in?
If you have forgotten your password, the system can send a reminder to the email address that you registered with. In the “Quick Login” box at the top right of the page, click on the “Forgot password” link. Then enter your email address into the box, and your password will be sent to that email address, provided it’s an already verified address stored on our systems.
Q I’m trying to login, and it says I have entered an incorrect email or password, what do I do?
You have either not completed registration using this email address, or you have misspelt the email address or password. If this is your first time logging in after registering, you have to have verified your email address is correct before the system allows you to log in. You must click on the link in the verification email that you would have been sent by our web provider Lateral Line to confirm registration, then try to login again.If you have logged in using this email address before, you have probably misspelt something. Click to “go back” and check that the email address and password are correct. If you have forgotten your password, the system can send a reminder to the email address that you registered with. In the “Quick Login” box at the top right of the page, click on the “Forgot password” link. Then enter your email address into the box, and your password will be sent to that email address, provided it’s an already verified address stored on our systems.
Q I have a new email address, can I still log in using my old one?
Yes, you can still log in using your old email address. Once you have successfully registered, your email address is your user name and is the unique way of identifying you. You can change this to your new email address in the “My Account” section. This will send you a verification email to your new email address, and you must click on this to approve the new email address. Then you can log in using the new address, and the old address will be invalid. You will be automatically logged out of the system when you confirm the email address change and will only be able to login again once the new email address has been ‘verified’
Q Can I change my Score Selector screen name?
There is the chance to change your screen name before the season starts, but once the season starts your screen name is with you for the season. To change your screen name log in and go to the “My Selector” section. You will see at the top next to your screen name a red button saying “Change screen name”. Click on this and enter your new screen name. Once this is approved, it will appear in the system. If the new name is considered offensive in any way, you will be asked to change this.
Playing the game
Q How do I enter my predictions?
Go to the “Make Predictions” page of Score Selector, where you will see the fixtures that are currently available for predictions to be made. This page will show the fixtures for the coming weekend, and the following week’s fixtures, where available. You can enter a score prediction until the closing time of half an hour before kick off. To enter a score type a number into the boxes, and then click on the “Save My Predictions” icon at the bottom of the page. You have to remember to save the predictions, for them to count. If a green tick appears this means the prediction has been saved, or updated ok. If a red cross appears, this means that something is wrong with your prediction and it has not been saved. “Edit My Predictions” allows you to make changes to your scores. Remember to then click on “Save My Predictions” to save the changes.
Q How do I check that my predictions have been saved?
If you click on the “Make Predictions” tab, this will show you the current fixtures and next week’s fixtures. This tells you if you have “failed to predict” a score, or shows the current score that is saved for each fixture. If you make any changes to this, you must remember to click on “Save My Predictions” or “Edit My Predictions” to ensure the new score is saved. Otherwise the system will remember the score that was last saved before the closing time.
Q How do I change my predictions?
If you click on the “Make Predictions” tab, this will show you the current fixtures and next week’s fixtures, where available. To make changes to this, just type in the new score into any games that are still “open” and remember to click on “Save My Predictions” or “Edit My Predictions” button to ensure the new score is saved. Otherwise the system will remember the score that was last saved before the closing time.Q What is the closing time for predictions?The closing time for each match is half an hour before the scheduled kick off for that game.
Q Can I enter my predictions after the closing date?
No, once the closing time has been reached, the fixture will be closed and you cannot enter a score for this game. There is no method to enter or change scores after the closing time.
Q Can you enter my predictions for me?
No, you have to login and make your own predictions. If you are having problems with internet access we cannot enter your predictions for you. We suggest you enter your predictions early in the week in case you have problems closer to the game.
Q How do I get points?
You get 3 points if you correctly predict a match score. You get 1 point if you get the score wrong, but choose the result correctly as a home win, draw or away win. You only get points if you have played the game.
Q I’m going on holiday, how can I enter my predictions?
We have two weeks fixtures on the site for prediction at a time. We cannot enter your predictions for you if you are unable to access the internet while away. If you are abroad, you can still access the site as long as you can find a computer with Internet access.
Q Why can’t I enter more than two weeks predictions at a time?
The system only allows two sets of fixtures to be accepted at a time.
Q What happens if a game is postponed?
If a game is postponed, or abandoned, this will become available on Score Selector for prediction ahead of the rescheduled fixture. If you saved a score prediction for the original fixture this will still be saved, but you can change this prediction in the same way as regular fixtures, until the closing time. Points will only be awarded once a game is completed.
Mini leagues
Q How do I set up a mini league?
Click on the “Create Leagues” section. Choose a name for your league [up to 40 chars] and click the “Create League” button. We operate an 'approval' system to ensure chosen names don't conflict with other league names, and are not considered offensive. If the name you choose is unique it will be accepted subject to approval, but until your league name is approved you will not be able to invite other players to join. When your league name is approved, this will appear in the list in the “Invite Friends” section where you can invite friends to join your league. You can set up as many mini leagues as you like.
Q How do I invite someone into my mini league?
Once you have set up a mini league and the name has been approved, click on the “Invite Friends” section. From the “My Leagues” menu choose the mini league you want to invite friends to. Fill the fields with your friends' email addresses, click the “Invite friends” button, and we'll send them an invitation to join your league. If you need more than 10 friends, click the “Add More Friends” button and we'll give you 5 more spaces up to a maximum of 15. If you require more, please send the first 15, then we will provide you with a new page to start the next set of invites. When your friends have accepted the invitation to join, they will show in your mini league within 24 hours of joining when the season is running.
Q How do I join someone’s mini league?
You have to be invited to join a mini league by the league owner. Ask the league owner to go onto the site and invite you to that league. The owner needs to know your email address to invite you.
Q I have accidentally ejected someone from a mini league, how do I get them back?
If you have ejected a player from a mini league you own, you would need to re-invite them to join the league. Do this from the “Invite Friends” section.
Q How do I remove myself from a mini league?
You can remove yourself from a mini league that you have joined, by going to the “Manage Leagues” section, clicking on the mini league that you want to remove yourself from, and then clicking the “resign” button. This removes you from that league. You cannot remove yourself from a league that you own, but you can disband the whole league by clicking on the “Disband Complete League” link at the bottom of the league.
Q How do I remove someone from a mini league?
To remove someone from a mini league that you own, click on the “Manage Leagues” section, and choose the mini league that you want to remove someone from. Click on the “Eject Player” button and that person will be removed from the league. Only the league owner can remove someone from a league.
Q I’ve created a mini league but it won’t let me invite people to join it?
You cannot invite friends to the mini league until the mini league name has been approved by us, and this appears in the drop down menu in the “Invite Friends” section.
Q I’ve accepted an invite into a mini league but I can’t see myself in it?
Leagues and standings are re-calculated on a regular basis and also when new match results are entered. Until either one of these events completes, you will not appear in a league you have just joined. Allow 24 hours to appear in a league when no fixtures are scheduled.
Q I’ve accidentally disbanded a league, how do I get it back?
If you have disbanded a league, you would need to repeat the process and set up a new league and re-invite all your friends to this league.
Q I want to invite a friend to my mini league but I don’t know their email address, what do I do?
You need to know your friend’s email address to invite them, so ask them to provide you with that.
Q I tried to invite a friend, and got an error message, what does that mean?
This means that the email address you have entered is not valid. Please go back and check that you have entered the email address correctly.
Prizes
Q How do I win the £10,000 grand prize?
At the end of the season, the person with the most points wins a grand prize of £10,000. In the event of a tie, the person who has correctly predicted the highest number of exact match scores over the course of the Season will be the winner. If a tie still exists, the winner will be picked at random from those who remain in the tie break. (See T&Cs; for full details)
Q How do I win the £5,000 prize for 6 correct fixtures?
There is a one off £5000 prize available for predicting the exact scores of all six SPL fixtures within a fixture group. This prize will be awarded only once during the Season, to the first person who correctly guesses all 6 scores in a fixture group. (See T&Cs; for full details)
Q How do I win the weekly prize of an iPod Shuffle?
We have a weekly prize of an iPod Shuffle on offer for the person who scores the most points in that week. (See T&Cs; for full details)
Q How do I win the monthly prize of £500?
We have a monthly prize of £500, for the person who has scored the most points in the month. (See T&Cs; for full details)
Q How do I find out who has won the weekly and monthly prizes?
The winners will be contacted by telephone. The winners details will also appear on the Score Selector home page in the “weekly winners” and “monthly winners” tab.
Q How will you contact me if I am a winner?
If you are a winner we will contact you using the telephone number you entered when you registered. Please make sure that this number is kept up to date, through the “My Account” button at the top right hand of the page when you are logged in.
