Cbfootball.co.uk Score Selector - terms and conditions

  1. Only UK residents who are over 18 years of age (“Eligible Participants”) are eligible to play the Score Selector game (“the Game”).
  2. Employees of any subsidiary of National Australia Group are Eligible Participants but no person, or their immediate family, who is directly involved in the management and/or running of the Game will be an Eligible Participant.
  3. Every winner must prove they are an Eligible Participant before they can claim their prize.
  4. To take part participants must be registered for cbfootball.co.uk and the Score Selector game and must be signed in.
  5. If a participant correctly predicts the score of a fixture they receive three points. If a participant does not predict the exact score of a fixture, but guesses the outcome correctly (home win, away win, draw) they receive one point. The official scores published by the Scottish Premier League (SPL) will be used when awarding points on this basis.
  6. The overall winner (“Overall Winner”) will be the Eligible Participant who scores the highest number of points over the course of the 2012/13 football season (“the Season”). The Season runs from the first scheduled SPL match until all matches in the Season have been played. In the event of a tie, the Overall Winner will be the Eligible Participant who has correctly predicted the highest number of exact match scores over the course of the Season. If a tie still exists, the Overall Winner will be picked at random from those Eligible Participants who remain in the tie break.
  7. The prize for the Overall Winner will consist of a cash prize of £10,000 and a trophy bearing the Overall Winner’s name.
  8. During the season there will be a weekly prize which will consist of an iPod Shuffle ("Weekly Prize") for the Eligible Participant who scores the highest number of points in a given calendar week (“the Weekly Winner”). A calendar week on Score Selector runs inclusively from 9am on a Tuesday until 9am on the following Tuesday ("the Calendar Week"). If there is a tie because more than one Eligible Participant achieves the highest number of points in a Calendar Week the Weekly Winner will be the Eligible Participant who has correctly predicted the highest number of exact match scores for that week. If a tie still exists, the Weekly Winner will be picked at random from those Eligible Participants who remain in the tie break.
  9. During the season there will a monthly prize which will consist of £500 (“Monthly Prize”) for the Eligible Participant who scores the highest number of points in a given month (the “Monthly Winner”). Points for all completed matches within a calendar month count towards the monthly points total, except when a scheduled fixture group is split over two months, in which case points received for all completed fixtures in that fixture group will be counted towards the monthly total for the month in which the first scheduled game of that fixture group takes place. If there is a tie because more than one Eligible Participant achieves the highest number of points in a month the Monthly Winner will be the Eligible Participant who has correctly predicted the highest number of exact match scores for that month. If a tie still exists, the Monthly Winner will be picked at random from those Eligible Participants who remain in the tie break.
  10. If there is more than one full fixture group consisting of 6 SPL fixtures (“Full Fixture Group”) within a given Calendar Week the following rule will apply: there will be a Weekly Prize for each Full Fixture Group played within that Calendar Week.
  11. There is a one off £5000 prize available for predicting the exact scores of all six SPL fixtures within a fixture group. This prize will be awarded only once during the Season and will be awarded to the Eligible Participant(s) who correctly predicts the scores of all 6 fixtures within a fixture group if that fixture group is the first fixture group to have had the scores of all 6 fixtures correctly predicted. If more than one Eligible Participant correctly predicts all six scores within the fixture group, the £5000 prize will be split equally between those Eligible Participants. A fixture group is a set of 6 scheduled fixtures as provided by the SPL. Each fixture is given a fixture group number running from 1 to 38. If a game within a fixture group is postponed or abandoned, participants must wait until all six fixtures are played to completion.
  12. If a participant fails to log in to the Game and complete a score prediction before the closing time of half an hour before the scheduled match kick off, they will receive no points for that fixture.
  13. When you sign up to play the Game, your points total starts at zero (0). You are not given points for any previous matches played in the weeks before you signed up.
  14. Participants can enter predictions for any listed fixture up to fourteen days in advance, up until the closing time for that fixture. The closing time is 30 minutes before the scheduled kick off time for that match (“the Closing Time”).
  15. If a fixture is abandoned points will not be awarded. If a fixture is postponed points will not be awarded until the fixture has been played. Postponed matches will be available separately on Score Selector for Participants to predict the score. All rescheduled fixtures will have the Eligible Participant’s original prediction saved but they can re-predict up until the Closing Time.
  16. The Promoter does not have direct access to the database of participant names or passwords. The Promoter cannot input your scores if you are experiencing problems accessing the website.
  17. Due to the ongoing nature of the Game, the Promoter may not be able to re-award points for matches when an error has occurred in the program code. All errors will be modified and repaired when they are highlighted, but it may not be possible to re-run program code to incorporate lost points. The Promoter is not liable for server/network/database failures, but will attempt to take all reasonable steps possible to minimise such failures. If the Promoter enters an incorrect actual score for a completed match, this will be amended with all player points re-adjusted accordingly.
  18. The Promoter reserves the right to declare points for any number of fixtures invalid due to technical problems. If this happens, points will not be awarded to participants for the affected fixture(s).
  19. In the instance of a server, network or database failure (“Failure”) that leads to the Game having to close, the Overall Winner will be chosen based on the points accrued from the previous fixture groups that took place during the Season affected by the Failure. The Monthly Winner will be chosen based on the points accrued from the previous fixture groups that took place during the month affected by the Failure. If a Failure occurs during the first fixture group of the month then the Monthly Prize will be forfeit. In all circumstances, all points that accrued during the fixture group that has been affected by a Failure will be lost. The weekly prizes and the prize of £5000 for correctly predicting the exact scores all 6 SPL fixtures within a fixture group will be forfeit in the event of a Failure during the affected week or fixture group.
  20. The Promoter is not responsible for problems with your home PC equipment, Internet connection or other technical faults unrelated to the Game.
  21. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award any prize to any Eligible Participant at any time if the Promoter has reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent activity.
  22. You may only register and sign to play the Game once. Any participant found to have registered for this Game using multiple player names will be immediately disqualified and will automatically forfeit the right to receive any prize.
  23. If you use a player name deemed inappropriate or offensive, then it will not be viewable in the game and you will be asked to change your player name. Adopting a player name deemed offensive by the Promoter or impersonating another individual is unacceptable. Failure to change such a player name will result in the player name being taken off any public high scores tables and the Eligible Participant will forfeit the chance to win any prizes.
  24. All Winners will be contacted by telephone and must verify that they are an Eligible Participant before receiving their prize. It is the Eligible Participant’s responsibility to ensure they supply a correct and valid telephone number. If the telephone number of any winner proves to be invalid, or the winner does not reply within one month of being notified that they are a winner, the prize will be redistributed as follows.
    • A weekly top score prize will go to the next person with the top score, picked at random. If there are no other entrants with the top score, a winner will be selected at random from all those with the next highest score.
    • A monthly top score prize will go to the next person with the top score, picked at random. If there are no other entrants with the top score, a winner will be selected at random from all those with the next highest score.
    • The overall winner prize will go to the person with the next most points. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the Eligible Participant who has correctly predicted the highest number of exact match scores over the course of the Season. If a tie still exists, a winner will be picked at random from those Eligible Participants who remain in the tie break.
  25. The prize(s) must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no alternatives. Prizes will be sent to winners within 28 days of them proving they are an Eligible Participant.
  26. The personal details provided by all participants will only be used for the purposes of administering this Game .
  27. By registering for this game you agree to the Promoter publishing your Score Selector screen name on the website.
  28. If you are a winner of any of the prizes on offer you agree to co-operate for all reasonable publicity associated with your prize and accept that your name, town and photograph may be used by the Promoter for promotional purposes.
  29. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the Game at any stage, if in its opinion it is deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
  30. Participants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when they register to play the Game.
  31. The rules and terms and conditions of the Game are subject to change at short notice as deemed necessary by the Promoter.
  32. The Promoter’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
