Manager of the Month for January
Rangers Manager Walter Smith has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month for January. Wins over Dundee United, Gretna, Inverness CT and St Mirren saw Walter Smith's side take maximum points for the month. Rangers also defeated Hearts to reach the CIS Insurance Cup Final.
This month's prize for voting here at www.cbfootball.co.uk was to hand over the Manager of the Month award. Rangers fan Neil Todd from Erskine (pictured) was the lucky man, and he came along to Murray Park to present Walter with his award. Commenting on his day, Neil said:
"It was a great privilege to meet Walter and to present him with the first Manager of the Month award of 2008 - hopefully there will be many more to come and Walter can also lead us to a treble!"
Player of the Month for January
Midfielder Barry Robson has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for January.
Barry joined Celtic at the end of the January transfer window but his award is in recognition of his performances for former club, Dundee United. Barry had a great January with Dundee United, netting no fewer than six league goals as he skippered the Tannadice side to nine points from a possible twelve in the month.
Young Player of the Month award for January
Dundee United defender Danny Grainger has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month for January.
Danny joined Dundee United from Gretna on the opening day of the January transfer window and has quickly established himself in the United first team. Danny played in all four of United's league games in January, helping the side to nine points from a possible twelve and is already an integral part of Craig Levein's side.
