Clydesdale Bank Manager of the Month for October
St Mirren Manager Gus MacPherson has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month for October.
St Mirren began the month with an unexpected win over Rangers, the first time they'd beaten them at Love Street in 22 years. Bringing on youngster Stephen McGinn in the second half proved to be an inspired substitution, as within 5 minutes he had scored what was the winning goal.
St Mirren followed that result with an away win against Hamilton, and a good performance away to Dundee United despite losing the game. The panel felt that Gus MacPherson deserved praise for achieving these results.
Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for October
Celtic midfielder Scott Brown has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for October.
Scott's form has been superb this month. His excellent performances helped Celtic win all three SPL games in October, beating Hamilton Accies, Inverness CT, and Hibernian. Scott also joined the list of top SPL goalscorers for the month with 2 goals, one being against his former team.
Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month for October
Hibernian's Steven Fletcher has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month for October.
Steven had a good month, his performances helping the team to a win over Aberdeen, a draw in the Edinburgh derby and the team staging a comeback from 2-0 down to Celtic, despite ultimately losing the game. Steven's two goals against Hearts and Celtic also made him one of the top SPL goalscorers of the month.
