Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month for September

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month for September.

An impressive month for the club saw Rangers strengthen their lead at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and continue to set the early pace in the SPL as they chase their fourth successive league title.  McCoist guided his side to an impressive 4-2 win over rivals Celtic as well as gaining important victories against Dundee United, Dunfermline and Kilmarnock.  The award is McCoist’s first Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager of the Month award following his step into the managerial hotseat in the summer.

Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for September

Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for September.

Throughout the month the midfielder has been a real driving force for Rangers creating six of the eleven goals scored by the club.  The stand in captain has led by example with a great work ethic and precision passing as he guided his side to four consecutive victories leading the voting panel to pick him out as Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month.

Clydesdale Bank Young Player of the Month for September

Celtic midfielder James Forrest has been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month for September.

Forrest has been in great form throughout the month helping his side to wins over both Motherwell and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.  Forrest has started the season strongly demonstrating great pace, skill and most noticeably an eye for goal.  He found the net 3 times in September, twice as Celtic hosted Motherwell in a 4-0 win at Celtic Park and a vital goal in his side’s 2-0 win over Inverness C.T.

Forrest’s form also didn’t go unnoticed by Scotland manager Craig Levein who called him into his squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Spain last week.  Forrest’s ability to beat opposition defenders together with his goalscoring exploits led the panel to vote him as their Clydesdale Bank Premier League Young Player of the Month.
