Weekend preview

Motherwell v Hibernian (Friday)
Hibs have won on four of their last seven visits to Fir Park, including the League Cup clash in September, but new Easter Road manager Pat Fenlon - who'll take charge for the first time - will want to improve on a record which has seen Hibs win just one of their last eight games.  Home midfielder Keith Lasley is likely to miss the Friday night game after suffering a thigh strain against Dundee United last weekend but defender Tim Clancy is available again after suspension and new signing Stephen Hughes could feature.  Hibs have this week also announced that Billy Brown will stay at the club to assistant Pat Fenlon.

Hearts v St Johnstone
Hearts have midfielder Ian Black available again after serving a three-game suspension.  Saints' Cillian Sheridan is doubtful after limping off against Hibs with a hamstring strain.  The last ten meetings of the clubs have seen four wins apiece and two draws, but on-form Saints have lost only two of their last twelve Clydesdale Bank Premier League games.

Kilmarnock v Aberdeen
Kilmarnock will be aiming to build on last weekend's win over Rangers, while Aberdeen have won only two of their last eleven games and have won just one of the last six meetings of the sides.  Jason Brown could come in for David Gonzalez in the Dons goal, while another Pittodrie 'keeper, Jamie Langfield, is set to join Division Two strugglers Forfar on loan to regain match fitness.

Rangers v Dunfermline Athletic
This will be the 100th league meeting of the sides and Dunfermline have won only one of the last 58 league meetings - at East End Park in December 2003.  They haven't won at Ibrox since April 1972.  Rangers, who have Indian duo Sunil Chhetri and Jeje Lalpekhlua on trial, will be without Carlos Bocanegra for two weeks with a hamstring injury.  Gregg Wylde returns after suspension as Rangers aim to bounce back from last week's Rugby Park loss and Ally McCoist is hopeful of having Kyle Lafferty available after the striker was substituted with a back strain in the Kilmarnock defeat last weekend.

St Mirren v Inverness Caledonian Thistle

St Mirren have won only one of the last seven meetings with Inverness C.T. and have won only two of their last nine games.  Bottom club Caley Thistle, though, have won only one of their last six games and Terry Butcher has Josh Meekings and David Proctor doubtful.  However Welshman Owain Tudur Jones, who's been out with cartilage trouble since August, is back in training and could be back in contention in the new year.

Dundee Utd v Celtic (Sunday)

United have won one of the last 42 meetings of the clubs - at Tannadice in November 2009 when late goals from Darren Dods and Jon Daly earned them a 2-1 win.  Home stopper Garry Kenneth has announced he'll quit Tannadice in the summer when his contract ends.  Georgios Samaras' goal against St Mirren last weekend was his second Celts goal in 28 games - while strike partner Gary Hooper has hit seven in his last seven games.
