Kilmarnock 3 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 6
Caley Thistle remain bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on goal difference despite an amazing victory at Rugby Park. Dean Shiels ran on to Paul Heffernan's pass to put the home side in front but an incredible collapse saw Inverness C.T. score five goals in 27 minutes. Andrew Shinnie played a one-two with Jonny Hayes before a clever finish from a tight angle to level. Hayes then drove his side in front after the interval with a 25-yard drive before Shinnie blasted in his second to make it 3-1. A solo Gregory Tade effort - which started when he won a header in his own half - increased the lead before David Davis set up Shinnie for his hat-trick and the fifth. Kenny Gillet then tripped James Dayton in the box and Shiels stroked home the penalty for the home side but Inverness C.T. added a sixth with seven minutes remaining when Shinnie turned provider for Tade, who hammered home from the edge of the box. Heffernan scored a third for the home side when he rifled in a low left-foot drive - but it was a home humiliation for Killie and absolute delight for a rejuvenated Caley Thistle.
Hibernian 0 Dunfermline Athletic 1
Hibs manager Colin Calderwood was sacked on the back of a disappointing home loss to struggling Dunfermline. Calderwood who guided his side to only 12 wins in his 49 matches at the helm saw his side fall behind when Austin McCann scored his first goal in more than a hundred appearances for the Pars when he converted a Paul Willis cross. Dunfermline almost added a second goal just before half-time when Ryan Thomson's knockdown fell for Andy Kirk, but his shot was deflected wide. Paul Gallacher saved well from Hibs' Garry O'Connor and David Wotherspoon but the home side's attacks grew more desperate and the home crowd greeted the final whistle with jeers in what turned out to be Calderwood's last match in charge of the club.
Rangers 3 Dundee United 1
Rangers moved twelve points ahead of Celtic and Motherwell at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League table after a solid win over United. Jon Daly missed an excellent chance for United, firing over from Johnny Russell's cross, before Nikica Jelavic headed the hosts ahead from Matt McKay's cross. Jelavic then added the second from the penalty spot following Paul Dixon's foul on Gregg Wylde. Daly headed home to pull one back from Garry Kenneth's cross before Kenneth turned Steven Whittaker's cross into his own net to seal Rangers' victory. The match ended in controversy when Wylde - a first-half sub for Lee Wallace - was shown a late red card by referee Brian Winter following an off-the-ball incident.
St Mirren 0 Hearts 0
Saints and Hearts fought out an entertaining but goalless draw at New St Mirren Park. Marian Kello was the busier 'keeper with great first-half saves from Paul McGowan and Graham Carey - then he reacted well to block a second-half piledriver from home sub Nigel Hasselbaink. Eggert Jonsson saw a header blocked by Craig Samson but the home side remained dominant - although Jambos substitute David Obua came close to nicking it in the final moments with a drive which rebounded from the inside of the post.
Motherwell 1 Celtic 2
Celtic snatched a late win in a Fir Park thriller. Michael Higdon gave Motherwell the lead when he glanced in Tom Hateley's cross but Celts' Anthony Stokes levelled within three minutes when he volleyed home Georgios Samaras' header across goal. Fraser Forster denied Higdon and Jamie Murphy was crowded out early in the second-half, but Celtic won it with ten minutes remaining. Paddy McCourt came on as a substitute and set up Stokes who crossed for Gary Hooper to touch home the decisive goal. Motherwell's chances of a comeback ended when they had defender Tim Clancy sent off for a kick at Hooper and Celtic leapfrogged the Lanarkshire side into second place.
