Rangers 1 St Mirren 1
Rangers were left stunned by ex-Ibrox favourite Stevie Thompson's injury-time leveller.  Ally McCoist's side would have gone twelve points ahead of Celtic in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title race if they'd held on.  However Rangers lacklustre performance left manager McCoist admitting afterwards they hadn't deserved to win.  After a poor first-half, Rangers went in front when Nikica Jelavic fired home after Kyle Lafferty's hard work had created the chance.  St Mirren had the majority of possession and made it pay when Thompson touched in David van Zanten's low cross to earn his side a point.  Rangers legend Paul Gascoigne was a VIP guest at the game and visited the home team's dressing-room before the match but he couldn't inspire them to victory.

Kilmarnock 3 Celtic 3
Celtic battled back from three goals down to salvage a point in an amazing Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash at Rugby Park.  Anthony Stokes blazed a great chance over the bar before the home side took control in a first-half rout.  Paul Heffernan set up Dean Shiels for the opener after a mix-up between Daniel Majstorovic and Cha Du-Ri, before Shiels set Heffernan up for the second.  James Fowler added the third just before the break when Celtic skipper Charlie Mulgrew was short with a back-pass.  Neil Lennon read the riot act at the break and his side responded with three goals in eight minutes late in the game.  First Stokes fired in a free-kick after Momo Sissoko fouled James Forrest, Stokes then added a second when he drove a 25-yarder past Anssi Jaakkola.  Celtic completed their comeback when Mulgrew headed in after Majstorovic headed on Ki Sung Yeung's free-kick. Heffernan then missed a great chance to grab a late goal for Killie in the dying moments as both sides searched for a dramatic winner in a pulsating clash.

Aberdeen 3 Dundee United 1
Aberdeen piled the pressure on United with a comfortable Pittodrie win over their North-East neighbours.  The Dons went ahead when Dusan Pernis saved from Rory Fallon but Kari Arnason reacted quickest to force in the rebound.  Both sides had penalty claims turned down by referee Willie Collum before Aberdeen added a second early in the second-half, when Youl Mawene headed in Ricky Foster's free-kick.  Mawene and Fallon had efforts blocked before Andy Considine made it 3-0 on the hour.  United's substitutes combined to pull one back when Stuart Armstrong's cross was turned in by Lauri Dalle Valle but the heat is now on boss Peter Houston.

Dunfermline 0 Hearts 2
Hearts grabbed their first away win of the season with a comfortable victory at East End Park.  Rudi Skacel had already tested Paul Gallacher before Hearts went ahead when Andy Webster headed in Danny Grainger's corner just before the break.  Marian Kello saved from Paddy Boyle but Hearts were well on top and sealed the points fifteen minutes from time when Skacel tapped home after Gallacher had saved from David Templeton.

Hibernian 0 Motherwell 1
Motherwell strengthened their position in second place thanks to Jamie Murphy's early goal.  Murphy found space between defenders Victor Palsson and Sean O'Hanlon to nod Tom Hateley's cross home after eight minutes.  Motherwell should have gone two ahead after 23 minutes when Stevie Hammell's teasing cross found the unmarked Keith Lasley, but the midfielder's header rebounded from the post.  The visitors stayed in control after the break, with Michael Higdon firing wide, Graham Stack then saved well to deny Stephen Craigan and Higdon sent another effort against the home side's crossbar.

St Johnstone 2 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0
Derek McInnes will head south for talks with Bristol City this week and could have signed off his spell at McDiarmid Park with a deserved win.  Fran Sandaza put them in front early on when he turned home Cillian Sheridan's cross.  Saints suffered a blow when Sheridan had to be replaced with a recurrence of a hamstring injury but his replacement Marcus Haber hit the post as Saints continued to dominate.  The Canadian set Dave Mackay up for the clincher with a 15-yard drive after 65 minutes to leave Caley Thistle rooted to the bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League table.
