Hearts 2 Hibs 0 (Sunday)
Hearts moved up to fourth but Hibs are rooted at the bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League after another Edinburgh derby defeat.  Paulo Sergio's side took the lead just before the interval when Jamie Hamill intercepted Callum Booth's pass and from his low cross, Ryan Stevenson drilled the ball home.  Matt Thornhill came close to an immediate response for Hibs with a curling shot which went just wide.  Steven Elliott drove against the Hibs post early in the second-half and Graham Stack saved well from Andy Driver's effort from the rebound.  David Obua also came close with a header which went just wide and he was injured in the process - but Hearts extended their lead when Andy Webster bulleted a header home.  Akpo Sodje was unable to keep it from crossing the line and substitute Eggert Jonsson followed up to fire in - but the ball had clearly crossed the line from Webster's header.  The defeat leaves a struggling Hibs without a win in any of last seven Capital derbies.

Dunfermline Athletic 2 Motherwell 4
Michael Higdon grabbed a double as Motherwell surged back to a comprehensive win at East End Park.  The Englishman curled in the opener after a one-two with Keith Lasley and dominant 'Well almost made it two when Tom Hateley cracked a free-kick off the post.  Motherwell increased their lead when Jamie Murphy's drive took a deflection off Alex Keddie and beat Paul Gallacher after 26 minutes.  The visitors made it 3-0 early in the second-half when Chris Humphrey was allowed to cut in and drive in off the far post.  However Dunfermline rallied and David Graham's drive hit Joe Cardle's back to deceive Darren Randolph - before Cardle's drive deflected off 'Well skipper Stephen Craigan to reduce the deficit.  But Motherwell confirmed their win in the final minute when Higdon stabbed Nicky Law's cross in to make it 4-2.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2 Kilmarnock 1
Graeme Shinnie's last-minute strike earned Caley Thistle their first win of the season.  Gregory Tade put the home side ahead with his first goal for the club when he headed in Richie Foran's cross after 26 minutes.  Dean Shiels levelled for KIllie ten minutes later, when the Northern Ireland internationalist took Liam Kelly's pass and curled a low 25-yard shot beyond Ryan Esson.  Tade almost made it 2-1 shortly after half-time but headed just wide - as did Foran with a similar chance.  But Inverness C.T. snatched it at the death when Shinnie fired into the right-hand corner of the net to stun the visitors - Caley's seventh win in their last eleven games against Killie.

St Johnstone 3 Dundee United 3
Battling United scored twice in the last ten minutes to salvage a McDiarmid Park point.  Barry Douglas fired the visitors ahead in their first attack from Johnny Russell's pass, Saints levelled when former United striker Fran Sandaza scored from the spot after Russell had been penalised following a clearance which caught David Robertson in the face.  Saints took the lead when Liam Craig drilled in a drive after Jody Morris' free-kick.  Sandaza made it 3-1 in first-half stoppage time when Garry Kenneth made a mess of a challenge, and the former United man scored with a composed finish.  United missed two good chances through Russell and Willo Flood before sub Gary Mackay-Steven's drive made it 3-2.  New signing Gavin Gunning headed United level with seven minutes left - and new loan signing Lauri Dalla Valle almost won it for United with a drive which Peter Enckleman saved well.

Rangers 2 Aberdeen 0
Rangers returned to the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League table but it took a last-minute goal to clinch victory over Aberdeen.  Steven Davis' 15th-minute chip shot sent Rangers on the way to Ally McCoist's first home win in charge.  Nikica Jelavic fired into the side netting and Dons 'keeper David Gonzalez saved from Steven Naismith's effort as Rangers dominated proceedings.  Maurice Edu also headed wide from Gregg Wylde's cross and the second-half continued in the same vein - though Rangers were relieved when Ricky Foster's header rebounded from the bar.  Rangers wrapped up the win in the final minute when Gonzalez spilled Davis' free-kick and Naismith prodded in the loose ball.  However the home side's defensive injury problems continued with Romanian signing Dorin Goian being replaced in first-half injury-time by Steven Whittaker.

St Mirren 0 Celtic 2
Two goals in the first eleven minutes set Celtic on the way to a comfortable Paisley win.  Neil Lennon's side had already had the ball in the net when Gary Hooper turned the ball home but was judged to have fouled Marc McAusland in the build-up.  However the Hoops strike pairing Anthony Stokes and Hooper combined with a clever one-two for the Englishman to drill the ball past Craig Samson after six minutes.  Daniel Majstorovic missed a chance to increase Celtic's lead when he headed over the top but five minutes after the opener Hooper seized on Paul McGowan's poor pass and advanced to fire clinically past Samson for Celtic's second.  Jeroen Tesselaar forced a good save out of Fraser Forster after the break but Celtic always looked in control and Samson saved well from Ki Sung Yeung and James Forrest.  The closest the home side came was Kelvin Wilson's mis-directed back header which went narrowly wide of the post.
