Celtic 0 St Johnstone 1 (Sunday)
Celtic manager Neil Lennon admitted he was left 'raging' after his side were beaten by Saints. The home side missed a penalty and a host of chances before Dave Mackay struck to give the Perth side their first win after fifteen consecutive defeats by Celtic. Celtic were awarded a third-minute spot-kick when Anthony Stokes was brought down by Peter Enckleman - but the Finn dived to his right to save Kris Commons' penalty. Shaun Maloney set up chances for Commons and Stokes and Commons also hit the post in a first-half which Celtic dominated. However they were stunned when Jody Morris' drive was saved by Fraser Forster and Mackay fired in the rebound via a deflection off Joe Ledley on the hour - Saints' first goal of the season. Substitute Paddy McCourt hit the post and caused the St Johnstone defence a few problems, but Derek McInnes' side held on for their first win at Celtic Park since 1999.
Aberdeen 2 Inverness C.T. 1
Caley Thistle stayed marooned at the bottom as Aberdeen finally ended their goal drought at Pittodrie. The home side went ahead after twelve minutes when Josh Magennis used his strength to power through the visitors' defence and his cross was touched in by Rob Milsom. The Dons added a second when Scott Vernon pounced on a mistake by Inverness CTâs loan signing from Wigan, Roman Golobart, to run through and coolly fire the ball past Ryan Esson. Milsom fired a free-kick against the post as Aberdeen dominated the first-half, but Caley Thistle improved after the interval and Richie Foran was denied by David Gonzalez. However, Foran pounced on a mis-headed ball by Aberdeen's Youl Mawene to pull one back and was only denied an equaliser by a great Gonzalez save near the end.
Dundee United 0 Dunfermline Athletic 1
Paul Burns' late strike continued Dunfermline's excellent start to the season - and maintained their excellent record against United. Pars 'keeper Paul Gallacher was their hero in the first-half with a superb triple save to deny Jon Daly, Willo Flood and David Robertson. John Rankin headed wide and Johnny Russell blasted over the bar as United continued to dominate after the interval, and Gallacher saved well again from Flood. Dunfermline's only effort of note had been Martin Hardie's free-kick which went just wide - but they shocked the home side five minutes from time. Joe Cardle's low cross reached Burns on the edge of the area and his drive beat Dusan Pernis to earn Jim McIntyre's side the win. United have won only twice in the last fourteen meetings of the clubs.
Hibernian 1 St Mirren 2
St Mirren came from behind to condemn Hibs to their fourth successive home defeat. Garry O'Connor put the home side ahead with a low drive after his first attempt had been blocked by the Saints defence, but a quickfire double just before the break stunned Hibs. First Callum Booth's slip allowed Jeroen Tesselaar to charge through and Stevie Thompson slotted his pass into the empty net. Further poor defending was to follow, with Tesselaar robbing Victor Palsson before threading the ball through to Steven Thomson, who finished just as clinically as his St Mirren namesake's. Hibs failed to find a way back into the game after the break, with sub Martin Scott's late drive over the top as close as they came to grabbing a point.
Kilmarnock 0 Hearts 0
Killie and Hearts had to settle for a point apiece in a hard-fought encounter at Rugby Park. The home side's James Dayton saw a free-kick saved while Hearts forward Stephen Elliott hit the bar with a first-half header. Gary Harkins fired over the Hearts bar soon after the break but home 'keeper Cammy Bell made a double save to deny Danny Grainger and Ryan Stevenson as both sides were unable to break the deadlock. Elliott had the ball in the net for Hearts late on but the goal was disallowed for offside - and the point means Hearts are unbeaten in their last six visits to Kilmarnock. There was bad news for Killie however with defender Ryan O'Leary, who was substituted at the interval, believed to have suffered a cruciate injury and could now face a lengthy lay-off.
Motherwell 0 Rangers 3
Rangers romped to the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League thanks to a comprehensive win over Motherwell at Fir Park. Table-topping 'Well were blown away by Ally McCoist's side and the champions were seldom threatened. Darren Randolph had already saved from Kyle Lafferty before Rangers went ahead when Steve Davis' corner was powered in by Nikica Jelavic, with the ball taking a final touch off Stevie Naismith. Jamie Murphy had a goal disallowed for handball but Rangers extended their lead on the stroke of the interval when Lafferty took Juanma Ortizâs pass and drove in off the post. Lafferty saw another effort saved as Rangers continued to dominate and although both sides hit the bar - Chris Humphrey for the home team and Davis for Rangers - the visitors wrapped up their win when Gregg Wylde broke clear and fired low past Randolph with six minutes left.
