Weekend preview

Dundee United v Kilmarnock
United manager Peter Houston has a host of disciplinary problems, with Paul Dixon serving the second game of his ban and Margaro Gomis, Sean Dillon and Mihael Kovacevic all suspended after their red cards against Rangers in midweek.  New signing Timothy van der Meulen could be drafted in to the heart of defence.  Kilmarnock interim manager Kenny Shiels is bound to make changes after Wednesday's home defeat by Celtic.  Four out of the last five meetings of the sides have ended drawn - and all three of Killie's goals against United this season have been scored by Conor Sammon, who's now at Wigan.

Hearts v Motherwell
Hearts' hopes of signing Kilmarnock playmaker Mehdi Taouil this summer received a blow when it was confirmed there's interest in him from the continent.  Hearts could recall skipper Marius Zaliukas after he'd to settled for a place on the bench at Inverness last week, but Marian Kello (back) and Eggert Jonsson (face knock) are doubtful.  Motherwell go into the game after their comprehensive Hampden semi-final victory.  There hasn't been a home win in the fixture in the last four games between the sides - with the last meeting two weeks ago also ending goalless.

Hibernian v St Mirren (Sunday)
Saints' Aussie Aaron Mooy has been offered a new deal, but Michael Higdon sees out the second game of his ban and John Potter is also suspended, although Hugh Murray is back after suspension.  Hibs will wants to get back to winning ways after the home defeat to Hamilton last weekend - which stretched their recent run to one win in five games.  Saints have lost five of their last eight games - all of them by one-goal margins.  The Easter Road side, who have released goalkeeper Graeme Smith and have Matt Thornhill out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, have lost only one of the last ten meetings of the sides.

Rangers v Celtic (Sunday)
Key game in the title race with just one point separating the sides as they go into their 300th league meeting.  Rangers could have Lee McCulloch available after almost three months out while Celtic could recall Old Firm talisman Georgios Samaras - who hasn't scored in the eleven games since his Ibrox double on January 2nd.  His team-mate Joe Ledley, however is out with a hamstring strain.  This is the seventh meeting of the sides this season, Celtic winning three, Rangers two, and one draw - there have been six red cards in the last four games between the clubs.  It'll be referee Craig Thomson's third Old Firm fixture of the year.

Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (Monday)
Aberdeen frontman Scott Vernon is out for the remainder of the season with a hernia problem, while Accies have David Elebert struggling with a hamstring injury.  Aberdeen have won all three meetings of the sides this season - the last two by one-goal margins.  Accies look to follow up their Easter Road victory with another win to strengthen any survival hopes they still have.

St Johnstone v Inverness Caledonian Thistle (Monday)
Saints central defenders Stuart Anderson and Michael Duberry both start two-match suspensions while Caley Thistle have Ross Tokely missing after his red card last weekend and Stuart Duff is sidelined through a one-game ban.  David Proctor (hamstring) and Dani Sanchez (hand) are out, but Graeme Shinnie could return to training soon after a stomach problem.  Saints haven't scored in their last five Clydesdale Bank Premier League games.
