St Johnstone 0 Celtic 1
Beram Kayal's first Celtic goal was enough to open up a five-point gap at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Celtic came close to the opener on the half-hour when Georgios Samaras ran on to Scott Brown's clever pass but his side-footer was blocked by the legs of Graeme Smith. Although Saints pressed forward towards the end of the first-half, Celtic went ahead in first-half stoppage time when Kayal flicked the ball home when Scott Brown's pass fell into his path. In the second half Liam Craig saw a left-foot drive well saved by Fraser Forster as Saints pressed for a leveller but Celtic finished the stronger and came close to a second when Brown's drove rebounded from the bar - and could also have had a penalty for a handball by Michael Duberry. Saints goal drought continues and they've now gone a club record five league games without a goal. Kayal's goal made him the 21st different Celtic goalscorer this season - and puts the pressure on Rangers for their trip to Pittodrie on Wednesday.
