Celtic 3 Hibernian 1
Celtic romped back to the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League with a comprehensive victory over Hibs. Anthony Stokes slotted in the opener from Emilio Izaguirre's cross after three minutes and Gary Hooper added the second from the penalty spot following Martin Scott's foul on Scott Brown. Hooper then made it 3-0 from Stokes' pass before the break as Celtic took full control. Hibs however did pull one back from the spot when Liam Miller converted after Charlie Mulgrew had been penalised for a foul on David Wotherspoon. Celtic then missed a chance to increase their lead when Gary Hooper fired a penalty wide after Freddie Ljungberg had been brought down by Paul Hanlon.
Motherwell 2 Dundee United 1
Motherwell edged closer to a top six spot after their fourth home win of the season over Dundee United. Motherwell went ahead after 25 minutes when Jamie Murphy wriggled past Keith Watson on the flank and fired home from an acute angle. Stuart McCall's side doubled their lead five minutes before the break when Chris Humphrey's terrific first touch took him beyond Paul Dixon and his drive took a deflection off Scott Severin and looped over Dusan Pernis in the United goal. Lacklustre United made all three changes early in the second-half and they pulled one back eleven minutes from time when Johnny Russell turned in Paul Dixon's corner and a minute later United almost levelled the scores when substitute Danny Swanson eluded Stephen Craigan only for Randolph to save his drive. The home 'keeper then made a great injury-time stop from David Goodwillie to ensure Motherwell moved seven points clear of Inverness CT.
St Mirren 3 Aberdeen 2
St Mirren moved to within three points of Aberdeen as they recorded their second successive home win. Saints went in front when last weekend's hat-trick hero Michael Higdon continued his scoring form, volleying in Craig Dargo's flick after six minutes. The home side held their lead till the break but were pegged back early in the second-half when Chris Maguire rolled Aaron Mooy and his drive deflected in off Hugh Murray. Saints were soon back on top and Dargo turned in David van Zanten's cross from four yards, and they increased their lead when Steven Thomson took advantage of Michael Paton's error to fire home their third. Rob Milsom pulled one back in injury time to make it 3-2 but Saints held out for victory.
