Dundee United 3 Aberdeen 1
Dundee United moved into fifth place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League after a well-worked win over Aberdeen. Dons defender Zander Diamond was injured early on when he almost scored from Rob Milsom's corner and although he returned after treatment to a head cut - he had to go off for more treatment - and the home side took advantage of his absence when Barry Douglas headed in Craig Conway's corner. Conway added a second five minutes later when his drive squirmed through Jamie Langfield's hands into the net. Josh Magennis pulled one back early in the second-half from Scott Vernon's cut-back but Aberdeen's hopes of a comeback ended when David Goodwillie - who'd just fired against the post - set up Danny Swanson for the third goal. Magennis tested Dusan Pernis as Aberdeen tried to get back into the game but Goodwillie had a penalty claim turned down as United finished well on top.
