Colin Calderwood made it five wins in succession to move Hibs up to 8th position in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Hibs took the lead eight minutes before the break when Akpo Sodje turned the ball in from Richie Towell's cross. Hibs then had to change 'keepers with Graeme Smith replacing Graham Stack after he was injured in a clash with Mark McLaughlin. Liam Miller came close to adding a second for Hibs only to be denied by Tomas Cerny, but the visitors did double their lead when Derek Riordan converted David Wotherspoon's cross. Hamilton began to push forward and they were denied when Paul Hanlon blocked Gary McDonald's late effort. Flavio Paixao did pull one back for Accies in the fourth minute of stoppage time, however it came too late and Hibs took the points.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0 Dundee United 2
Substitutes Prince Buaben and David Robertson got the second-half goals which moved United up to sixth spot in the table. Scott Robertson came closest to an opening goal in a poor first-half but United took the lead with 15 minutes to go when David Goodwillie turned the ball back for Prince Buaben to drive in. Robertson then added a second for United in the final minute from Buaben's pass to kill off Caley Thistleâs hopes. The result sees Inverness CT drop out of the top six and leaves them two points ahead of Hibs.
