Weekend preview

Aberdeen v Hearts
Craig Brown's first game in charge was the 5-0 defeat at Tynecastle in December but Aberdeen have won eight of their 13 games since.  However Hearts have won 1-0 on their last two visits to Pittodrie.  Hearts have Ruben Palazuelos suspended after his red card against Dundee United last weekend and team-mate Lee Wallace could be missing after suffering a recurrence of his ankle injury against United.  Peter Pawlett remains on the sidelines for Aberdeen alongside long-term absentees Yoann Folly, Darren Mackie and Fraser Fyvie.

Hamilton Academical v Dundee United
Simon Mensing, Alex Neil and James Gibson all remain out for Accies while United will again be without Garry Kenneth after he was injured at Tynecastle last weekend.  United have won on each of their last four visits to New Douglas Park, including two this season - in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and Scottish Cup.  David Goodwillie has scored the winner in United's last two league wins.

Hibernian v Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Hibs' Ian Murray serves the second game of his ban but Colin Calderwood has Kevin McBride avaliable after suspension whilst Caley Thistle's Grant Munro also returns after his ban.  For Inverness CT Gavin Morrison and Kenny Gillett are back in light training but Jonny Hayes is again likely to miss out and Graeme Shinnie and Nick Ross are on the injured list. Hibs pair Steven Thicot and Michael Hart are also injured.

Kilmarnock v St Mirren
Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen is bound to ring the changes after last weekend's five-goal defeat at Aberdeen.  Killie have won both previous meetings of the sides this season but they've won only one of their last eight games.  Saints' win at Fir Park on Wednesday was their first victory in nine games.  Both sides have won 67 of the previous 175 meetings of the clubs.

Motherwell v Celtic
Motherwell have skipper Stephen Craigan missing through suspension whilst Steve Jones and Steven Saunders are doubtful with injuries.  Steve Jennings and Keith Lasley will be touch and go after picking up knocks in the midweek defeat by St Mirren.  Celtic manager Neil Lennon will have to make changes with midfielder Beram Kayal suspended.  Motherwell haven't beaten Celtic at home in their last ten meetings - since Scott McDonald's double in May 2005.  There have been red cards for the home team in both games this season - both of which Celtic won 1-0 - Scott Brown for Celtic in December and Saunders for 'Well last August.

Rangers v St Johnstone

There have been 100 league meetings of these sides and Rangers have won 78 of them but the atmosphere at Ibrox is likely to be muted after their defeat at Parkhead last weekend – although they will be heartened by Rangers progress in the Europa League.  Saints look like ideal opposition to get Rangers championship challenge back on track - they've managed just one draw in their last 26 league visits to Ibrox.  Saints will be without striker Sam Parkin who's out for the rest of the season after fracturing his ankle in training.  Injured midfielders Stevie Naismith and Jamie Ness are set to miss out for Rangers.
