Rangers 6 Motherwell 0
Rangers romped to a convincing victory over Motherwell and recorded their biggest win of the season in the process. Nikica Jelavic grabbed a hat-trick but it was Steven Naismith who got the home side off to the perfect start when he poked in Vladimir Weiss' pass. Croat Jelavic added the second from Steven Whittaker's cross then added the third from Weiss' pass before the interval. Motherwell sub Ross Forbes forced a good save from Allan McGregor with a dipping drive but Rangers added a fourth when John Fleck's cross was turned into his own goal by Shaun Hutchison. Jelavic completed his hat-trick with a low drive before home sub David Healy scored his first Rangers goal with an angled drive to complete the win.
Hamilton Academical 0 Hearts 2
Hamilton remain without a home win in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League this season and stay bottom of the table after a comfortable win for Hearts. Stephen Elliott headed in Lee Wallace's cross after 22 minutes to give Jim Jefferies' side the lead. Elliott then doubled the lead with another header just after the re-start after Marius Zaliukas set up the chance. Tomas Cerny denied Elliott a hat-trick and although Marian Kello saved from Jim McAlister, Hearts stayed in control until the end.
Hibernian 2 Kilmarnock 1
Kilmarnock paid the price for failing to take advantage of their first-half dominance against ten-man Hibs. The visitors were the better side in the opening period and Graham Stack had to save well from Mehdi Taouil, but Hibs made Killie pay when Akpo Sodje out-muscled Manuel Pascali and beat substitute 'keeper Anssi Jaakkola. Hibs increased their lead when Mahamadou Sissoko impeded Derek Riordan in the box and Victor Palsson scored from the spot. Hibs were reduced to ten men when Francis Dickoh brought down Kieran Agard and Jamie Hamill scored from the resulting penalty. However Killie couldn't snatch a point and Hibs have now opened up an eight-point gap over Hamilton.
St Mirren 3 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3
Neither side were able to end their win-less runs but they served up a Paisley thriller. Caley Thistle went ahead when Adam Rooney got the better of Darren McGregor to fire home but Saints levelled when Craig Dargo was brought down by David Proctor and Michael Higdon scored from the penalty. Steven Thomson fired Saints into the lead from Dargo's pass but Aaron Doran levelled before the break from Proctor's cross. Richie Foran put Rooney clear to make it 3-2 to the visitors but McGregor headed the equaliser with 14 minutes left to round off a scintillating game at New St Mirren Park.
Dundee United 1 Celtic 3 (Sunday)
Celtic withstood a second-half United fightback to win at rain-soaked Tannadice to re-establish their five-point lead at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Celtic had all the early pressure on a sodden pitch and went ahead when Anthony Stokes' low drive deflected off home skipper Garry Kenneth and eluded Dusan Pernis. Fraser Forster made a block from Prince Buaben but Celtic added a second when Mark Wilson turned Scott Brown's cross in, with the ball again taking a deflection - this time from Kenneth's central defensive partner Sean Dillon. United pulled one back when Craig Conway's free-kick was driven in by David Goodwillie and Forster saved again from the United striker as the home side pushed for an equaliser. But Gary Hooper hit the post for Celtic before Dan Majstorovic headed in Charlie Mulgrew's free-kick to confirm Celtic's win.
St Johnstone v Aberdeen was postponed following a waterlogged pitch at McDiarmid Park.
