Kilmarnock 1 Hearts 2
Hearts came from behind to snatch a late victory at Rugby Park. Alexei Eremenko set up Rui Miguel - in attack in place of Conor Sammon, who has turned down a move to Scunthorpe - for the opener after 19 minutes. Hearts brought on substitute Stephen Elliott at half time and he drilled in the equaliser with 17 minutes to go. Elliott then stunned Kilmarnock with four minutes left when his shot was fumbled by Cammy Bell and the ball crept over the line. Hearts have now gone ten games unbeaten and have opened up an eleven-point gap between themselves and fourth-placed Killie.
Rangers 1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0
Steven Davis' goal just before the break set Rangers up for a chance to go top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Saturday. Davis' low side-footed strike, after Kyle Lafferty's effort had been blocked, helped Rangers end the first-half on a positive note. Rangers improved after the break and the introduction of subs John Fleck and Nikica Jelavic gave them a more threatening look, with Jelavic twice coming close to adding to Rangers' lead with efforts which went wide. Inverness CT pushed defender Ross Tokely up front in an effort to force their third draw of the season against Rangers but they were unable to trouble Allan McGregor. Gers will go top of the table if they beat Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday, before Celtic kick-off later in the afternoon.
