Hamilton Academical 1 Celtic 1
A dramatic clash at New Douglas Park saw three red cards, a last-minute Celtic equaliser and a last-gasp strike disallowed. Celtic looked flat in the opening spell and fell behind when Simon Mensing headed in. Celticâs task grew even greater when James Forrest was shown a straight red card for a foul on David Buchanan - but Accies were also reduced to ten men when sub Jim McAlister, who'd only been on for 35 seconds, was sent off for a foul on Mark Wilson. Accies looked set to hold on for victory but in the first minute of injury-time Mensing was red-carded for a foul on Emilio Izaguirre and Anthony Stokes scored from the spot. There were five more minutes of injury-time and Celtic almost snatched it when Stokes headed in Charlie Mulgrew's corner - but the assistant referee flagged that the ball had curled out of play. The draw, which denied Accies their first win over Celtic since April 1989, leaves Celtic five points ahead of Rangers, who have three games in hand.
Dundee United 2 Motherwell 0
United moved level with Motherwell on 24 points but 'Well have now gone seven games without a win in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Johnny Russell's shot against the post was the closest either side came in the first-half but the youngster put his side in front when he headed in Garry Kenneth's knockdown shortly after the break. United completed their victory when substitute Stuart Armstrong set up David Goodwillie to rifle the ball home in the final minute.
