Celtic 1 Kilmarnock 1
Kilmarnock's excellent recent record continued when they came within six minutes of a rare Parkhead win. Celtic had won eleven of the previous twelve meetings of the clubs but Mixu Paatelainen's side arrived in confident mood and justified it with a fine performance. Cammy Bell made a couple of saves from Niall McGinn but Celtic had an injury blow when Gary Hooper was stretchered off after a tackle by Frazer Wright late in the first-half. Kilmarnock shocked the home side when Conor Sammon put them ahead early in the second-half with a cool finish after good work by Mehdi Taouil. Celtic introduced skipper Scott Brown from the bench and they levelled when Thomas Rogne headed in Ki Sung Yeung's cross. In a dramatic finish, both Sammon and Daryl Murphy had chances to win it but it finished all square.
For Celtic, their third home draw in succession meant they missed an opportunity to go to the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on goal difference. They now trail Rangers by two points with the champions having played a game fewer. Rangers' Tuesday match against Dundee United fell victim to the weather, as has tonightâs encounter between Hamilton and Hibs.
