Hearts 1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1
Inverness continued their own amazing away run and simultaneously ended Hearts' winning streak at Tynecastle. Caley Thistle's Grant Munro headed his side ahead after 17 minutes from Russell Duncan's free-kick - even though Adam Rooney tried to nudge it home, he didn't get a touch and the ball went past Marian Kello. But Caley's hopes of building on their lead were dashed when 'keeper Ryan Esson brought down Stephen Elliott and Kevin Kyle levelled from the spot eight minutes later - the striker's second spot-kick strike in successive games after his midweek goal against Motherwell. Hearts almost went ahead when Kyle's shot from a tight angle hit the side netting. David Templeton then had a 25-yard drive which hit the post, and Ryan Stevenson had a drive well saved by Esson. Hearts continued to dominate after the break and Templeton raced on to Kyle's pass only to drag his shot wide of Esson's goal before Skacel saw his shot hit the outside of the post as Hearts threatened but couldn't break Caley Thistle down. Their point means Inverness CT have completed a calendar year without losing a league game away from home, since their last loss was in November 2009 and their next away fixture isn't due until the New Year.
Kilmarnock 2 Hibernian 1
Liam Kelly celebrated his new deal with Kilmarnock with a double which continued their excellent recent run against 10-man Hibs. Kelly fired the opener into the corner of the net from full-back Ben Gordon's cut-back after nine minutes and he repeated the trick from another Gordon pass to put his side two ahead at the break. Hibs got a lifeline when Derek Riordan lashed in his seventh goal of the season from the edge of the box early in the second-half. But Kelly almost grabbed a hat-trick with a long-range effort which Mark Brown saved. There was controversy with ten minutes to go when Conor Sammon went down under Liam Miller's challenge but although the home side claimed a penalty, ref Craig Thomson awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box. But the fourth official drew Thomson's attention to an incident off the ball, and Miller was shown a red card. Despite being down to ten men Hibs pushed hard for an equaliser but Mixu Paatelainen's men held firm to move up to fifth in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League table.
Postponed
The four other Clydesdale Bank Premier League games fell victim to the weather. Aberdeen v Motherwell and St Johnstone v Dundee United were postponed because of the harsh conditions surrounding Perth and Aberdeen, while burst pipes at Ibrox saw Rangers game against St Mirren also cancelled. A burst water main next to the controls for Hamilton's undersoil heating saw their Douglas Park pitch fail a Saturday morning inspection before their game against Celtic.
