Weekend preview

Aberdeen v St Johnstone
St Johnstone will be without Graham Gartland, Kevin Moon, Graeme Smith, Chris Millar and Dave Mackay as they travel north looking to turn around their recent poor form.  The Saints injury woes also continued in midweek with Murray Davidson requiring treatment before joining up with the Scotland squad and he will undergo a late fitness test ahead of the game at Pittodrie.  Darren Mackie is out for the rest of the season for Aberdeen but Andrius Velicka is available after missing the trip to Ibrox because of the terms of his loan.  Saints have won only two of the last 13 games between the sides and lost the first meeting this season to a late Mackie goal but Aberdeen have taken just four points out of 33 since then.  Both sides have lost their last four games - and Saints haven't scored a goal in that run.

Celtic v Dundee United
Celtic have Joe Ledley available again after suspension but United's Scott Robertson is doubtful after being substituted during the first-half of last weekend's draw with Kilmarnock.  United will go west in good heart - they've drawn on six of their last eight visits to Celtic Park.  However midfielder Craig Conway had a knee operation this week and will be out for two months whilst Mihael Kovacevic, Scott Severin and Darren Dods are still out.

Hearts v Hamilton Academical
This fixture marks the 100th league meeting of the sides and Hearts have won 62 to Accies' 28.  Hearts have won their last three games by 2-0 but Suso Santana misses out after a knee operation while Lee Wallace, David Obua and Andrew Driver are also out.  Accies are struggling for form and have won only one of their last ten Clydesdale Bank Premier League games. Skipper Alex Neil remains a doubt and striker Nigel Hasselbaink is struggling with a hamstring problem.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Hibernian
Inverness C.T. are unbeaten in the last four meetings with Hibs but have managed just one home league win this season.  Striker Adam Rooney has scored three goals in their last two games but Terry Butcher is still without Russell Duncan, Gil Blumenshtein, David Proctor and Chris Innes.  Hibs will be heartened by two successive wins and are likely to stick with the side which beat Motherwell last weekend.

Kilmarnock v Rangers
On-form Killie - unbeaten in four - go into the game aiming to reverse one of the worst records in the division - they've lost 26 of the last 29 meetings against Rangers.  Kilmarnock will be looking for striker Conor Sammon to continue his rich vein of form with five goals in his last four games.  Rangers duo Stevie Naismith and Steven Whittaker missed the midweek Scotland international against the Faroes with injuries, as did Northern Ireland pair Kyle Lafferty and Steven Davis, while Kirk Broadfoot is also a doubt with a recurring ankle knock.  American Maurice Edu is definitely out with a knee injury while strikers Nikica Jelavic and James Beattie remain on the sidelines.  Ricky Foster is available after missing the game against Aberdeen under the terms of his loan.

St Mirren v Motherwell

Skipper Stephen Craigan missed Northern Ireland's friendly against Morocco in midweek with a groin strain but is expected to make it, while Keith Lasley remains a doubt.  Saints, who've brought James Grady in as striker coach, have Paul McGowan available again after he missed the game against Celtic because of his loan agreement.   David Barron and Steven Thomson could also be in line for starts but Saints captain Hugh Murray is out with a fractured cheekbone.
