St Mirren 0 Celtic 1
Celtic scored in the second minute of injury-time to grind out a vital win at St Mirren Park. The victory takes Celtic back to within a point of leaders Rangers but Saints made it difficult and almost scored when Michael Higdon rattled the bar with a long-range effort in the second-half. Captain Shaun Maloney missed a good chance but Celticâs pressure paid off when Gary Hooper stabbed in sub Paddy McCourt's cross at the second attempt in the closing seconds.
Dundee United 1 Kilmarnock 1
A draw was about the right outcome in an entertaining game at Tannadice. Conor Sammon continued his fine scoring run for Killie when he drilled them in front from Mehdi Taouil's pass midway through the first-half. Kilmarnock only led for a minute when Prince Buaben and David Goodwillie combined to set up Johnny Russell for his first league goal. Killie almost won it late on through Alexei Eremenko's drive but a draw was a fair result.
Hamilton Academical 1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3
Inverness CT continued their amazing away form by coming from behind to stun bottom club Hamilton. The home team went ahead when Dougie Imrie flicked the ball in from Damien Casalinuovo's pass. After the break Adam Rooney levelled the scoring following a mistake by David Elebert, three minutes later Caley Thistle took the lead when Nick Ross' cross was fired in by Jonny Hayes and Rooney added the third with a looping header from Hayes' cross.
Hibernian 2 Motherwell 1
Derek Riordan justified his recall with both goals as Hibs got their first home win under Colin Calderwood. Motherwell took the lead through an early penalty awarded by Dougie McDonald when Jamie Murphy went down under Michael Hart's challenge and Nick Blackman scored from the spot. Riordan, recalled after missing the midweek Ibrox win through suspension, levelled when he drilled in Valdas Trakys' knockdown. Riordan then won it for the home side when he took advantage of a mix-up in the visitors' defence to fire past Darren Randolph. Motherwell had a chance to level through Alan Gow but his effort went wide and Motherwell slipped to fourth in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
Rangers 2 Aberdeen 0
Rangers won easily but Aberdeen were happy to put in a tighter display than last weekend at Parkhead. Gers went ahead when Kenny Miller's head-flick from Vladimir Weiss' cross went in at Jamie Langfield's far post, and Weiss added a second with a close-range drive. The home side could've added a third before the break when they were awarded a penalty following Zander Diamond's foul on Steven Whittaker but Langfield made a great save from Miller's spot-kick. Aberdeen showed more resistance after the break and although Miller and Naismith both missed chances, Rangers were comfortable winners, though Naismith's shoulder knock added to their injury list.
St Johnstone 0 Hearts 2
A controversial penalty sunk Saints and helped move Hearts up to third place. David Templeton's free-kick rebounded from the defensive wall but ref Mike Tumilty awarded a penalty and Kevin Kyle scored from the spot. Although Sam Parkin came close to equalising with 15 minutes to go, Ryan Stevenson added the second in the final minute to condemn St Johnstone to their fifth successive defeat.
