Rangers 0 Hibernian 3
Hibs shocked the champions to give new manager Colin Calderwood his first victory.
The visitors went ahead after six minutes when midfielder Liam Miller's strike wrong-footed Allan McGregor following a deflection off Maurice Edu. David Wotherspoon came close to making it 2-0 only to be denied by McGregor - however John Rankin did double the lead after 18 minutes with a curling drive at the end of a terrific Hibs move. Rangers were further rocked by injuries which saw Maurice Edu and Sasa Papac stretchered off before the break. Although Rangers had territorial advantage after the interval and Davie Weir saw a header cleared off the line, they couldn't make it pay and Hibs wrapped up the win when Francis Dickoh volleyed in Sol Bamba's knock-down from close range.
Aberdeen 1 Inverness CT 2 (Tuesday)
The pressure increased on Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee after another Dons defeat. Aberdeen dominated the early stages but fell behind when Yoann Folly pushed Grant Munro in the box and Adam Rooney scored from the spot. The Dons almost equalised instantly but Ryan Esson clawed away Darren Mackieâs effort. Aberdeen however were not to be denied and sub Andrius Velicka scored his first Aberdeen goal from Scott Vernonâs pass to level four minutes after the break. Although Aberdeen were again the more positive side during the second-half, Inverness CT maintained their unbeaten away record nine minutes from time when Munro scored from Richie Foran's cross.
Hearts 2 Celtic 0
Hearts grabbed a great win over ten-man Celtic who also had manager Neil Lennon sent off. The home side went ahead when Ian Black's drive deflected off Daniel Majstorovic and looped over Fraser Forster after 29 minutes. Celtic were reduced to ten men when Joe Ledley was shown a straight red for a late tackle on Black early in the second-half - and it got worse for the visitors two minutes later when Shaun Maloney lost possession and Rudi Skacel's cross was finished off in style by David Templeton. A bad night for Celtic was completed when ref Craig Thomson sent Lennon to the stand for complaining after a Celtic penalty appeal for handball against sub Ryan Stevenson was turned down.
Dundee United 1 St Mirren 2
Michael Higdon hit a double to lift St Mirren off the foot of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Saints had already missed a good chance when Gareth Wardlaw headed into the side netting before Higdon took advantage of Sean Dillon's slip to fire home. The striker doubled the lead early in the second-half when he blasted in Paul McGowan's cross and although United pulled one back with four minutes left through Prince Buaben's free-kick, they were unable to fight back for a point.
Kilmarnock 3 Hamilton Academical 0
Killie hit three for the third game in succession to move up to seventh in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Liam Kelly set loan defender Ben Gordon up for the opener late in the first-half and Killie clinched it with two goals soon after the re-start. First Conor Sammon took advantage of a defensive slip to fire in the second, then the striker made it four goals in three games when he headed in Craig Bryson's cross. Accies are now bottom of the table and have won only one of their last eight games.
Motherwell 4 St Johnstone 0
Motherwell cemented third place in the division as they sealed their biggest win of the season over struggling Saints. Motherwell had already come close twice before loan striker Nick Blackman opened the scoring after twelve minutes, turning in Jamie Murphy's cross. Blackman made it two when he fired in at the second attempt from Chris Humphrey's cross before sealing his first-half hat-trick in injury-time when he was on hand to score after Saints 'keeper Peter Enckleman had blocked Stephen Craigan's header. 'Well dropped the pace after the interval but added a fourth two minutes from time when John Sutton fired home. Saints defeat was their third game in succession in which they have failed to score.
