Weekend preview

Celtic v Aberdeen
The last meeting of the sides was a 4-4 thriller with two late Steven MacLean goals earning the Dons a point in February but Aberdeen have lost on their last eleven visits to Parkhead.  Celtic have Scott Brown, Daryl Murphy and James Forrest sidelined through injury but hope to have stand-in skipper Shaun Maloney available after he missed the win at St Johnstone through illness.  Aberdeen are likely to be without Andy Considine through a knee injury and Nikola Vujadinovic with a hamstring strain whilst both Peter Pawlett and Fraser Fyvie are long-term absentees.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Motherwell

The sides met last season in both Cups with each club registering a win apiece.  Caley Thistle have won only one of the last ten league meetings of the sides, whilst Motherwell have lost only once in their last five SPL visits to Inverness.  On-form Inverness CT are unbeaten in five league games but still have Gil Blumenshtein, Chris Innes, Lee Cox, Kenny Gillet and David Proctor out injured.  Motherwell hope to have midfielder Keith Lasley and striker Jamie Murphy back after both of them missed last weekend's defeat at home to Hamilton through injury.

Hamilton Academical v Dundee United

Recent meetings have been evenly-matched with two wins apiece and two draws in the last six meetings of the clubs.  Hamilton are the only side still to register a home win in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League but last weekend's win at Motherwell was their first victory in seven games.  Accies skipper Alex Neil is in the running for a return after making his first appearance of the season following injury as a sub at Motherwell last Saturday.  Danny Swanson is likely to miss out for United after a recurrence of his sciatic problem saw him substituted last weekend against Hibs.  Darren Dods, Craig Conway and Scott Severin are also doubtful as United look to build on last weekend’s victory.

St Johnstone v Kilmarnock

Saints have won only one of their last seven home games against Kilmarnock and head into this game with Danny Grainger suspended after his red card against Celtic last weekend.  The Saints also have Graham Gartland and Kevin Moon out with knee injuries and Jody Morris is doubtful with a rib injury.  Killie have James Dayton out with a knee injury but otherwise Mixu Paatelainen has a full squad to choose from.  Expect a winner as none of the last eleven meetings between the sides have resulted in a draw.

St Mirren v Rangers (Sunday 12.00)
Saints still have Craig Dargo and Paul Gallacher out but David Barron could return whilst Steven Thomson and Sean Lynch are also approaching fitness.  James Beattie is out following a recurrence of his hip problem and Vladimir Weiss is a doubt after failing to make the bench in Rangers' Champions League defeat at Valencia in midweek. The clubs met six times last season - three times in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, twice in the Scottish Cup and once in the League Cup.  Saints haven't won any of the last nine meetings of the sides.

Hibernian v Hearts (Sunday 2.15)

Hibs didn't win any of the four SPL meetings between the sides last season but as Colin Calderwood searches for his first points since taking over, he hopes to have Colin Nish and David Wotherspoon available again.  Hearts still have Andrew Driver, Lee Wallace and David Obua sidelined.  Expect a tight game as none of the last eleven Edinburgh derbies in the league have been separated by more than a single goal.
