Weekend review

Hearts 0 Kilmarnock 3
Killie's spell at the bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League lasted only 24 hours after a comprehensive victory at Tynecastle in the Sunday lunchtime game.  Frazer Wright's header in first-half stoppage time sent Killie ahead at the interval and substitute Conor Sammon added a second when he beat Marian Kello following a quick breakaway.  Finn Alexei Eremenko completed the scoring with a delightful chip guiding Killie to their second away win of the season.

Dundee United 1 Hibernian 0
Hibs are still searching for their first point under Colin Calderwood after they went down to a late David Goodwillie goal at Tannadice.  Hibs midfielder John Rankin saw his penalty saved by home 'keeper Dusan Pernis after Prince Buaben had been penalised for a clumsy challenge on Danny Galbraith.  United made Hibs pay for that miss when Goodwillie ran on to Danny Swanson's long pass to score with three minutes remaining.

Motherwell 0 Hamilton Academical 1
Motherwell missed the chance to make it three wins in eight days when they went down to their derby rivals.  Nigel Hasselbaink scored the game's only goal after 15 minutes with a terrific curling drive which went in off the post.  Motherwell had a golden chance to get back into the match when Martin Canning fouled Nick Blackman but Tomas Cerny saved Tom Hateley's penalty.  Motherwell had Alan Gow’s second-half header well saved by Cerny as Accies held out for victory.

Rangers 1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1
Rangers lost their 100% record in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League but stayed top of the table.  Maurice Edu's early half-volley put the home side in front but they'd to reshuffle after knocks to Edu and Vladimir Weiss saw them replaced at the interval.  Caley Thistle improved after the break and Allan McGregor made a great save from Richie Foran's header.  Inverness CT however weren't to be denied and Foran took advantage of Kirk Broadfoot's slip to set up sub Eric Odhiambo for the equaliser nine minutes from time.  The result extends Caley's great away record - they haven't lost on the road since last November.

St Johnstone 0 Celtic 3
Celtic romped to a comfortable win against the Saints for the second successive game.  Niall McGinn fired Celts in front in the first minute after Graeme Smith parried Anthony Stokes' drive.  Neil Lennon's side went further in front before half-time when Steven Milne was short with a back-pass allowing Emilio Izaguirre in to score his first goal for Celtic.  Saints' misery continued when Danny Grainger was sent off for a second booking following a late challenge on Anthony Stokes. McGinn then doubled his tally and rounded off the scoring when he added a late third for Celtic.

St Mirren 2 Aberdeen 1
Loan midfielder Jure Travner grabbed an injury-time winner to stun Aberdeen - but they still finished the weekend bottom of the table after Kilmarnock's Sunday win.  Marc McAusland put the home side in front from new signing Aaron Mooy's corner after 28 minutes but Mark McGhee's side levelled after the break when Paul Hartley's free-kick was knocked in by Rory McArdle.  Saints midfielder Travner took advantage of Dons sub Michael Paton's slip to slot in the winner in the second minute of injury-time.
