Weekend preview

Hibernian v Hamilton Academical
Hibs have won 50 of the 100 meetings between the sides but lost twice to Accies last season - including a 4-1 defeat at New Douglas Park in April.  John Hughes has lost striker Daryll Duffy for two months with a broken bone in his foot but has signed Lithuanian striker Caldas Trakys from Greek outfit Panserraikos after a successful trial.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Hearts
Hearts have won the last five meetings of the sides, including a 3-2 win in Inverness CT’s last visit to Tynecastle.  Remarkably, Caley Thistle haven't lost away from home in the league since last November - but they've lost both their home SPL games this season by a single goal.  Hearts manager Jim Jefferies - facing an S.F.A. ban after being sent to the stand last weekend - could have striker Gary Glen available following a hamstring injury.

Motherwell v Aberdeen
Fourth against third, in what should prove to be a tight encounter at Fir Park.  Aberdeen haven't won any of the last four meetings between the sides, however they've lost on only two of their last seven visits to Motherwell.  Craig Brown has defender Steven Saunders available again after suspension.  Aberdeen Manager Mark McGhee could face an S.F.A. ban after being sent to the stand in the defeat by Dundee United last weekend.

Rangers v Dundee United
The clubs have met 15 times in the last three seasons – with United's last Clydesdale Bank Premier League win over Rangers coming in October 2007 when Barry Robson's penalty helped them to a 2-1 win.  Croat striker Nikica Jelavic could return for Rangers after missing the midweek Champions League draw at Old Trafford.

St Johnstone v St Mirren
St Johnstone have taken only one point from their first four games this season and have yet to score a home goal.  Skipper Jody Morris is a doubt after missing last weekend's defeat at Motherwell but Derek McInnes has signed winger Jennison Myrie-Williams after his release by Dundee United.  The Paisley Saints have loan striker Paul McGowan suspended after his red card at Kilmarnock. Expect the meeting of the Saints to be tight with eight of the last 13 meetings being drawn, including three last season.

Kilmarnock v Celtic (Sunday)
Celtic have won 26 of the last 28 meetings between the sides - Chris Maguire's winner against Celtic for Killie in February was the Rugby Park side's first win over Celtic since May 2001.  David Silva is a doubt for Mixu Paatelainen after being injured against St Mirren last weekend and winger James Dayton is out for six months after injuring his cruciate in the same game.  The club are also close to signing Portuguese striker Rui Miguel from CSKA Sofia.  Celtic are set to offer Greek frontman Georgios Samaras a new deal and have Trinidadian Shahdon Winchester on trial.  Neil Lennon also has striker Gary Hooper returning to full fitness and he may feature at some point.
