With your SPL team on holiday, the latest fans poll here on cbfootball asked what sporting event you were most looking forward to over the summer.  Did you want a break from football, or was the lure of the World Cup too much, even without Scotland taking part?

Not surprisingly a massive 87% of you were excited about the biggest football event in the world, ready to watch some superb football, and cheer on whichever country you’d decided to support in the absence of the Scots.  Next was the Open Golf Championship with 8% of the votes, and the tennis highlight of the summer, Wimbledon, only managed 4%.  The final 1% were looking forward to something else sporty, your guess to what that would be is as good as ours!

Our next poll is still on a World Cup theme, and concerns the big talking point of the Finals so far – the vuvuzela!  Is it spoiling your enjoyment of the tournament?  Tell us what you think in the Competitions section now.
