Derek, whose Score Selector screen name is âDekledâ, racked up a record breaking 201 points during the 2009/10 season correctly predicting an impressive 41 exact results along the way to lead the chasing pack by seven points.
Andrew, who received his winning trophy and cheque for £10,000 from Aberdeen FCâs rising star Fraser Fyvie in a special presentation at Pittodrie Stadium yesterday, said:
âIâm delighted to win Score Selector and I certainly wonât have trouble finding a use for the top prize of £10,000 but I must admit itâs been a bit of a strange season for me Score Selector.
âI didnât even know I was in the running to win it until one of my friends told me at Christmas that I was top of the overall league! I had just been checking my own results and never imagined I would be in running for the overall lead!
âAfter finding that out its fair to say the second half of the season was pretty nerve-racking for me and so to finally get over the line and have the cheque in my hands is as much a relief as anything if Iâm honestâ
Talking about how he intended to spend his £10,000 prize, Derek said:
âIâve been saving for a new flat for a while now so some of it will help me out with that but Iâll also use some of the prize to treat myself and my family.â
