Weekend preview

Aberdeen v Falkirk
Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee has pleaded with the club's fans not to desert them after less than 8000 came to last Sunday's home defeat to St Johnstone.  A win for Falkirk would see them close the gap on the Dons to three points - and ominously for the home side, Falkirk are unbeaten in the last four meetings of the side, including two wins in the space of three weeks in February.

Celtic v Hibernian
All three meetings of the sides this season have ended in away victories - both Celtic's wins by 1-0, and 2-1 for Hibs at Parkhead in January.  Celtic have won their last three Clydesdale Bank Premier League games and have scored more headed goals (15) than any other club in the league.  Celtic have lost only once in their last 32 league games at Parkhead.  Celtic will see rivals Rangers win the title this weekend if they drop points to Hibs and Rangers beat Hearts.

Hamilton Accies v Kilmarnock
A win apiece and a draw in the three previous meetings this season - but Kilmarnock have scored just four goals in 16 away games this term, and Accies have lost only one game in their last eight.  However, manager Billy Reid has called on his players not to show any complacency until their SPL status is assured.

St Johnstone v St Mirren
Five of the last eight meetings of the sides have been drawn - including two at St Mirren Park this season.  The Perth Saints won the other meeting 1-0 in December thanks to Chris Millar's goal.  St Mirren have won just one of their last 15 league games: the 4-0 win over Celtic.  Gus MacPherson's relegation fight received a blow with the news defender Jack Ross is out until the end of the season with an ankle injury.

Motherwell v Dundee United (Sunday)
A win apiece and a draw in the three meetings this season although Motherwell have lost their last three league games.  They have doubts over Keith Lasley, Stephen Craigan and Lukas Jutkiewicz, who were all substituted with injuries during Tuesday's defeat by Celtic.  John Ruddy also remains sidelined through injury.  Peter Houston won the Clydesdale Bank Manager of the Month award for March and Andy Webster comes back into contention for him after missing the midweek game against Rangers under the terms of his loan agreement – but defender Mihael Kovacevic is suspended after his red card against Rangers in midweek.  United are unbeaten in seven games - the longest current run in the division.

Rangers v Hearts (Sunday)
Rangers aim to maintain their undefeated home league record this season and know they’ll take the SPL flag if Celtic drop points against Hibs and they beat Hearts.  Tynecastle frontman Andrew Driver is sidelined with a torn thigh muscle which will keep him out for two weeks.  But skipper Michael Stewart resumed training this week after a calf injury and could come back into contention for Jim Jefferies.  Although Rangers needed Andy Little's last minute equaliser to rescue an Ibrox point in January, Hearts haven't won any of their last eleven visits there.
