Midweek review

Dundee United 0 - 0 Rangers

Rangers’ title party was put on ice till the weekend after they were held to a draw at Tannadice by 10 man United.  Rangers can now win the title on Sunday against Hearts – but only if Celtic drop points against Hibs on Saturday.  The first half was evenly-contested with Steven Davis and Garry Kenneth coming close at either end, but Kenny Miller was only denied a goal by a terrific Dusan Pernis save from his dipping volley.  United were reduced to ten men when defender Mihael Kovacevic was shown a straight red by Brian Winter for a retaliatory kick at Kyle Lafferty.  Rangers tried to make the man’s advantage count and Miller hit the post in the first minute of injury-time but in the end they had to settle for a point.
