Celtic 2 â 1 Motherwell
Celtic bounced back from their Scottish Cup defeat at the hands of First Division Ross County by coming from behind to beat Motherwell. Neil Lennon axed striker Georgios Samaras from his Hampden squad and dumped Marc Antoine Fortune to the bench, with Diomansy Kamara partnering Robbie Keane up front. But after Mark Reynolds took advantage of slack defending to put Motherwell ahead from Tom Hateley's free-kick four minutes into the second-half, it was one of Celts' Hampden flops, Josh Thompson, who came to their rescue. Within a minute of his side falling behind, he fired home from Scott Brown's knock-back â and he then rose to head home the winner from Lee Naylor's corner with twelve minutes left. But Celts' nerves were apparent at a less-than-half-full Parkhead and 'keeper Lukasz Zaluska made good stops in both halves from Jamie Murphy.
