Midweek review

Rangers 3 – 1 Aberdeen
Rangers moved 13 points clear of Celtic and within two victories of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title with a hard-fought win over Aberdeen. Steven Davis gave the Champions a half-time lead with a 20-yard drive into the top corner and Kyle Lafferty – who started in place of top scorer Kris Boyd – added a second goal after the break from Lee McCulloch's pass. But Darren Mackie pulled one back for the visitors from Steven MacLean's cross before Kenny Miller made sure of the points for Walter Smith's side when he bundled in from Danny Wilson's header 14 minutes from time
