St Johnstone 0 – 1 Dundee United

Jon Daly's late goal kept United within distance of Celtic in third place – and dealt a blow to Saints' hopes of finishing in the top six.  Victory would have seen Derek McInnes' side move into the top half of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and they missed a golden chance to take the lead when Liam Craig's penalty – awarded after a foul by Paul Dixon on Dave Mackay – was saved by Dusan Pernis after 69 minutes.  And Peter Houston's side took full advantage when Daly headed the winner with seven minutes left from Margaro Gomis' cross.  United stay five points behind second-placed Celtic after the win.
