Midweek review

Hibernian 2 – 4 Dundee United
Dundee United opened up a five-point gap over Hibs – and closed to within the same margin of second-placed Celtic.  Peter Houston's side are now outside contenders to snatch the second Champions League place after comprehensive wins over Motherwell and Hibs in successive games.  They came from behind after Paddy Cregg fired Hibs ahead in the opening minute. Jon Daly's penalty – after he'd been fouled by Chris Hogg – levelled after 20 minutes and Danny Swanson converted Craig Conway's pass to make it 2-1 six minutes later.  David Goodwillie increased their lead on the hour and sub Fran Sandaza took Goodwillie's pass to make it 4-1 with two minutes left before sub Anthony Stokes made it 4-2 from Derek Riordan's pass in injury-time.
