Midweek review

Main Image

St Johnstone 1 – 0 Aberdeen
St Johnstone moved to within three points of a top-six spot thanks to Cillian Sheridan's first-half goal.  Sheridan drove in after Dons 'keeper Jamie Langfield parried Danny Grainger's shot – and only Langfield's excellent save from a bullet header by Dave Mackay prevented Saints increasing their lead.  Aberdeen's chances of making the top six now look bleak and their miserable night was completed when midfielder Gary McDonald was replaced during the first-half with a hamstring injury. He's set to be out for six weeks.  Saints are now within three points of sixth-placed Hearts and have two games in hand.
