Weekend preview - week 30

Falkirk v St Johnstone
The next two games against St Johnstone and Hamilton are vital for basement club Bairns after a run of just one win in five games but manager Steven Pressley insists they can take heart from their performance against Celtic last weekend. Saints have won three, drawn three and lost three of their last nine Clydesdale Bank Premier League games but midfielder Martin Hardie is out until September following a cruciate operation.

Hamilton v St Mirren
It’s eleventh against tenth at New Douglas Park but Accies have lost only one of their last five games.  Saints, who haven’t won in their last ten Clydesdale Bank Premier League games, are likely to be without defender Chris Innes again. Flavio Paixao’s goal against Aberdeen last weekend was Hamilton’s first in four league games, while Saints haven’t scored in any of their last four meetings with Hamilton.

Motherwell v Hearts
Craig Brown is likely to recall Jim O’Brien and Jamie Murphy after leaving them out of the midweek draw at St Mirren, but Lukas Jutkiewicz remains a doubt with a nagging knee injury. Hearts striker Christian Nade has been warned about his behaviour after throwing a punch at team-mate Ian Black after the game at Parkhead last month. Andrew Driver returned to training this week but is still a few weeks away from a first-team return – however Jim Jefferies does have Eggert Jonsson available after suspension. The last seven meetings of the sides have ended in one-goal wins – four for Hearts and three for Motherwell. ‘Well are unbeaten in eleven league games since losing to Hearts in December
