Weekend Review – St Johnstone v Hibernian

Main Image

St Johnstone 5 – 1 Hibernian
Saints duo Liam Craig and Cillian Sheridan both grabbed doubles as Hibs crashed to their second defeat in four days.  Craig put the home side ahead with a left-foot strike then Sheridan doubled it from Murray Davidson's cross.  Kenny Deuchar added a third for the home side in the second-half from Sheridan's cross before Anthony Stokes pulled one back with a right-foot drive.  But any Hibs hopes of a fightback evaporated when sub Colin Nish was shown a straight red card for a kick at Michael Duberry – with manager John Hughes sent to the stand for protesting the decision.  Deuchar set up Sheridan for the fourth before Sol Bamba's handball led to a penalty which Craig converted for rampant Saints’ fifth.  The stunning win puts Saints within four points of a top-six spot.
