Weekend review - week 26

Aberdeen 4 – 4 Celtic
Celtic had to settle for a Pittodrie point despite being 4-2 ahead with 15 minutes left.  Diomansy Kamara put Celtic ahead inside three minutes but Michael Paton drove in a leveller before Marc-Antoine Fortune finished off a fine move to restore Celts' lead.   Darren Mackie equalised for Aberdeen before the interval but goals from Robbie Keane and Aiden McGeady seemed to put Celtic in a winning position.  The last of the drama was yet to come however as a late double from new Don Steve MacLean – the first from a penalty – earned Aberdeen a point.  Celtic had defender Darren O'Dea sent off for a second bookable offence in injury-time.

Hamilton 0 – 0 Motherwell
Both sides struggled to repeat their good midweek form in a flat Lanarkshire derby.  Visitors' 'keeper John Ruddy was the hero with three top saves to deny Simon Mensing (twice) and David Elebert but both managers were left disappointed by their teams' showings.  However Motherwell have extended their run to seven Clydesdale Bank Premier League games unbeaten while the point lifted Accies four points clear of bottom club Falkirk.

Hearts 3 – 2 Falkirk
Ian Black fired in a screamer as new Falkirk manager Steven Pressley's first game in charge ended in disappointment.  Lee Wallace had given Hearts the lead with a speculative cross but Falkirk went in level at the interval after Dawid Kucharski turned Marc Twaddle's cross into his own net. Suso Santana smashed home Hearts' second from Wallace's cross and Black made it 3-1 before Pedro Moutinho turned in Ryan Flynn's pass to ensure an edgy finish at Tynecastle.  Falkirk are now four points adrift at the bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

Kilmarnock 3 – 2 St. Johnstone
Kilmarnock twice came from behind to win a thriller at Rugby Park.  Peter MacDonald put Saints ahead with a cool finish but Chris Maguire equalised for the home side from close range just before the break.  Graham Gartland put St Johnstone back in front early in the second-half from Danny Grainger's free-kick but Garry Hay levelled before Kevin Kyle bulleted home Mehdi Taouil's cross for the winner 13 minutes from time.

St. Mirren 1 – 2 Dundee United
Two United goals in the final six minutes stunned St Mirren.  The home side had taken a deserved lead after 66 minutes when Michael Higdon headed in Steven Robb's cross and could've added a second when Craig Dargo was hauled down by Garry Kenneth as he went through on goal. But United levelled when Prince Buaben's cross teed up Danny Swanson to drive past Paul Gallacher – and Peter Houston's team snatched victory when Jon Daly's cross was volleyed in by sub David Goodwillie.

Rangers 3 – 0 Hibernian (Sun)
Rangers re-established their ten-point lead at the top of the table with a hard-fought win over John Hughes' side.  Hibs had the better of the first-half but Steven Whittaker played a neat one-two with half-time sub Kyle Lafferty and drove in the opener.  Then Kris Boyd blasted in his 21st goal of the season from the penalty spot after Kenny Miller went down under a challenge from Sol Bamba. Kevin Thomson set up Miller to side-foot home from 12 yards to seal the win.
