Dundee United 0 – 2 Hamilton
Accies deserved their first Tannadice win since 1989 as they ended United's seven-game unbeaten run.  World Cup hopeful Trent McClenahan's cross fell for Flavio Paixao to fire a drive into the top corner for the opener.  Then Billy Reid's side added a second on 45 minutes when Paixao crossed for his brother Marco whose downward header was magnificently kept out by Dusan Pernis, but the Portuguese forward made no mistake from the rebound.

Celtic 2 – 0 Hearts
Two goals in a minute early in the second-half saw Celtic cut Rangers' lead at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League to eight points.  First Diomansy Kamara's corner from the right found Glenn Loovens and although the Dutchman mis-controlled it, he still managed to switch the ball from right foot to left and drive home the opener.  Celts clinched victory when Aiden McGeady left a clutch of players in his slipstream and slid the ball to Marc-Antoine Fortune, who slotted home his side's second.

Falkirk 0 – 1 Kilmarnock
Craig Bryson's goal for Killie returned Falkirk to the bottom of the table.  On-loan striker Chris Maguire held the ball up before playing Bryson in and the midfielder beat home 'keeper Robert Olejnik with a near-post shot early in the second-half. Killie could have added a second but Kevin Kyle’s header was well saved.

Hibernian 2 – 2 Aberdeen
Hibs battled back from two down to rescue a point against the Dons.  Michael Paton put the visitors ahead when he stretched out a leg to divert home a Gary McDonald knock-down then new signing Steven MacLean cleverly headed a Sone Aluko shot beyond Graeme Smith.  But Anthony Stokes pulled one back with a drive from the edge of the box and Abdessalam Benjelloun levelled from the spot with two minutes left after a handball by Zander Diamond.

Motherwell 1 – 1 Rangers
Rangers were happy to settle for a Fir Park point after being dominated by the home side on the poor Motherwell pitch.  The home side led when Tom Hateley curled in a free-kick halfway through the first-half and they looked to have added a second when Ross Forbes touched in Stephen Craigan's header only to be flagged offside – a decision TV pictures subsequently proved to be wrong.  It was a reprieve for Rangers and althlough they exerted second-half pressure the Champions failed to seriously trouble home 'keeper John Ruddy. However they finally made the breakthrough when Kris Boyd capitalised on a moment of hesitation between Ruddy and Mark Reynolds to level from close range with ten minutes left.

St Mirren 1 – 1 St Johnstone
Dave Mackay's first goal for St Johnstone was cancelled out by Michael Higdon’s second-half leveller in the meeting of the Saints.  Mackay fired home after Jack Ross had cleared Peter MacDonald's effort but Higdon headed the equaliser from sub Graham Carey's free-kick after 71 minutes.  In a rousing finale the home side's Ross and the visitors' pair Morris and MacDonald all passed up opportunities to win the game.
