Weekend review - week 13

Aberdeen 1 - 0 Rangers
Ten-man Aberdeen knocked Rangers off the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League thanks to Lee Miller's strike.  Miller turned in Michael Paton's low cross in the first-half and the home side held on comfortably to inflict Gers' first domestic defeat in 25 games.

Mark Kerr was sent off for two tackles on Stevie Naismith but the closest Rangers came was a Kris Boyd shot which Kyle Lafferty turned over the bar.

Celtic 3 - 1 St Mirren
Celtic went back to the top of the table with a hard-fought win over Saints.  Scott McDonald fired the home team in front with a drive which deflected in off Chris Innes then Georgios Samaras added the second from Aiden McGeady's pass.

Michael Higdon pulled one back for Saints before the break but McDonald added the third from McGeady's pass.

McDonald was denied his hat-trick by Paul Gallacher's spot-kick save in injury-time but the match ended in farce when ref Steve Conroy showed Chris Innes a second yellow card - then had to bring the Saints defender back from the dressing-room because he hadn't been booked before!

Hibernian 2 – 0 Falkirk

Hibs moved level with Rangers after two Derek Riordan strikes sunk bottom-of-the-table Falkirk.

Riordan drove in Merouane Zemmama's cross - with a deflection off Brian McLean - to open the scoring but Hibs had to wait til two minutes from time for him to wrap it up with another great strike after good work by David Wotherspoon.

Kilmarnock 1 - 2 Hearts
Eggert Jonsson and Christian Nade grabbed the goals that gave Hearts what Jim Jefferies felt was a fortunate Rugby Park win.

After a scrappy first-half Jonsson fired the visitors ahead after 65 minutes then Nade headed in Craig Thomson's cross with 14 minutes left.  Janos Balogh saved Kevin Kyle's penalty before Craig Bryson pulled back a last-minute consolation for Killie.

Motherwell 2 - 2 Dundee United
Nine-man United grabbed a draw in a match in which both managers were critical of referee Alan Muir.

Andy Webster fired United ahead before John Sutton headed in Ross Forbes' corner to level. Lukas Jutkiewicz put Motherwell ahead when he fired in his fifth goal in a month before Prince Buaben was sent off for two bookings.

Sub Jon Daly levelled for the visitors from Paul Dixon before Danny Swanson was shown a straight red card for a foul on home sub Keith Lasley.

St Johnstone 1 - 1 Hamilton Accies
Two first-half goals were all the sides could manage in an even encounter at McDiarmid Park.

Mickael Antoine-Curier put the visitors in front with his sixth goal of the season but Saints hit back quickly when Kevin Moon picked out Filipe Morais to score.

Accies 'keeper Tomas Cerny denied Saints after the interval with great saves from Murray Davidson and Filipe Morais.

The result moved Hamilton to tenth spot, two points ahead of bottom side Falkirk.
