Rangers 2 – 1 Celtic
Rangers regained second spot in the table after resisting a stout second-half Celtic fight-back in the Sunday Clydesdale Bank Premier League fixture.

Kenny Miller took Kris Boyd's pass and beat Artur Boruc after eight minutes then, after Celtic had a strong penalty claim turned down, doubled the lead when he ran clear of Glenn Loovens.  Celtic pulled one back when Sasa Papac – playing in central defence because of injuries to Madjid Bougherra and Lee McCulloch – fouled surprise Celts starter Zheng Zhi allowing Aiden McGeady to score from the spot.

That was all inside the opening half-hour and although Celtic pressed after the break, they couldn't find a leveller.

Hamilton 0 – 2 St Johnstone
A goal in each half earned Saints their first win of the season and lifted them off the bottom of the table.

Steven Anderson put Derek McInnes' side in front on the stroke of half-time when he turned in Martin Hardie's glancing header, and the visitors secured the points six minutes from time when Danny Grainger joined the attack and rifled home the second goal.

Hibernian 1 – 1 Dundee United

Hibs moved into second place in the table – even if just for 24 hours – but had to settle for a point against United.

Merouane Zemmama took advantage of Darren Dods' slip to give John Hughes’ side the first-half lead but Marcello Gomis set up Andy Webster who drilled in a deserved leveller for United in the 72nd minute.

United finished with ten men when Prince Bauben was shown a straight red card by ref Mike Tumilty for a head-butting gesture towards Anthony Stokes but Hibs couldn't make their extra man count.

Kilmarnock 1 – 1 Aberdeen
A late Gary McDonald goal earned Aberdeen their fourth draw of the season.

Killie looked to have snatched a win in an even contest when Danny Invincibile took Allan Russell's pass and drove past Jamie Langfield.  But McDonald equalised when home 'keeper Mark Brown blocked Charlie Mulgrew's free-kick and the midfielder bundled the ball home.

Motherwell 1 – 0 Falkirk
Falkirk returned to the bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League as Motherwell got back to winning ways.

On-loan Everton striker Lukas Jutkiewicz scored the only goal early on when he headed home Chris Humphrey's corner.  Falkirk showed more attacking ideas after the break but were unable to trouble John Ruddy in the home goal.

St Mirren 2 – 1 Heart of Midlothian
Saints finally won their first Clydesdale Bank Premier League match at New St Mirren Park after nine months thanks to a second-half comeback.

Their home misery looked set to continue when Jose Goncalves headed home Craig Thomson's corner after half-an-hour but although Hearts had been on top, Saints rallied and Andy Dorman turned Stephen McGinn's shot into the path of Steven Thomson, who levelled before the interval.

Saints were much livelier after the interval and won the match and the points when Craig Dargo volleyed in sub Tom Brighton's pass for the clincher.

Hearts' misery was complete when striker David Witteveen was stretchered off after a collision with Chris Innes.
