Kilmarnock - Clydesdale Bank support Jim Jefferies Football Academy

Kilmarnock - Clydesdale Bank support Jim Jefferies Football Academy

Children from the Jim Jefferies Football Academy recently met up with the Kilmarnock manager to celebrate the Academy’s renewed support from SPL Sponsor Clydesdale Bank.

Beginning its 2009 programme in February, the community academy for boys and girls aged between 7 and 12 years is based around 75-minute training sessions delivered by fully qualified SFA and Kilmarnock FC Community Coaches.

Jim Jefferies expressed his thanks to Clydesdale Bank for backing this important Kilmarnock FC initiative and stated:
"In this day and age, it's more important than ever for youngsters to get out of the house and participate in healthy activities like football where they can also develop social skills and learn to be part of a team."

Paul MacDonald, Head of Community Football, Kilmarnock FC:
“It’s great news that we have extended our partnership with Clydesdale bank for The Jim Jefferies Football Academy.   Their support definitely enhances the quality of the programme by allowing us to make use of the very best facilities and equipment.  Like all our community programmes The Jim Jefferies Football Academy aims not only to develop the skills of young players but to also educate them of the importance of a healthy lifestyle.”

Irene Swankie, Clydesdale Bank Community Affairs Manager commented on Clydesdale Bank’s support for the community initiative:
“Clydesdale Bank endeavours to play a positive role in the development of strong communities, and as SPL sponsor, what better way than to help Kilmarnock Football Club continue their excellent work in the local community by extending our support of the Jim Jefferies Football Academy.”
