Hibernian - Clydesdale Bank support Hibernian Community Foundation

Hibs manager John Hughes and Hibernian Community Foundation director Tom McFarlane were joined by Clydesdale Bank representative Adrian Innes for a cheque presentation at Easter road recently as the SPL sponsor kicked off their support for the Hibernian Community Foundation with a donation of over £5,000 to help establish the IT infrastructure at the Foundation’s new Learning Centre within Easter Road Stadium.

In partnership with Jewel & Esk College, the Foundation aims to provide a stimulating learning environment for people of all ages including school groups and migrant workers as well as those seeking to enhance their employability.  The Hibernian Community Foundation was set up in 2008 with the aim of harnessing the power and passion of football to promote learning, improve health and enhance opportunities within our local communities.

Stressing the importance of Clydesdale Bank’s sponsorship to the success of the project, Hibernian Community Foundation Director, Tom McFarlane said:
“Without the support of our partners, and in particular Clydesdale Bank, our local communities would not be able to take advantage of the opportunities for learning and development that will be available in the Learning Centre. This money will make a substantial contribution towards us having the latest in IT which in turn will make the experience for the Learning Centre users more rewarding. ”

Irene Swankie, Clydesdale Bank Community Affairs Manager commented on Clydesdale Bank’s support for the community initiative:
”Clydesdale Bank endeavours to play a positive role in the development of strong communities, and as SPL sponsor, what better way to help Hibernian Football Club continue their excellent work in the local community than by supporting the Hibernian Community Foundation
