Kilmarnock - Clydesdale Bank supports Kilmarnock FC’s Premier Football Academy

Kilmarnock - Clydesdale Bank supports Kilmarnock FC’s Premier Football Academy

Children from Kilmarnock’s Premier Football Academy recently met up with Kilmarnock player James Dayton to celebrate our renewed support towards the club’s Academy.

The Premier Football Academy is a community academy for boys and girls aged between 7 and 12 years old. The programme consists of a 75 minute training session delivered by fully qualified SFA and Kilmarnock FC Community Coaches and runs for 30 weeks between March and November.

As well as getting the kids fit and healthy through their coaching, the Academy also aims to raise awareness of diet and nutrition and promotes heart rate monitoring to make kids aware of the importance of playing football, eating properly and living a healthy lifestyle.

Kilmarnock FC's Head of Community Football, Paul MacDonald was delighted with our continued support:
“It’s great news that we have extended our partnership with Clydesdale Bank for the Premier Football Academy.   Their support definitely enhances the quality of the programme by allowing us to make use of the very best facilities and equipment. In this day and age, it's more important than ever for youngsters to get out of the house and participate in healthy activities like football where they can also develop social skills and learn to be part of a team whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle.”

Irene Swankie, Clydesdale Bank Community Affairs Manager commented on the support for this community initiative:
“This is Clydesdale Bank’s fourth year as SPL sponsor and over that time we have witnessed the range of excellent work that each club does to make a positive impact in its local community.  As a business we too aim to develop strong relationships that support local communities, so we are delighted to be able to help Kilmarnock FC by providing some additional funding to their Premier Football Academy.”
