Hibernian - Clydesdale Bank supports Hibernian’s NEW Community Ticket Scheme

Hibernian - Clydesdale Bank supports Hibernian’s NEW Community Ticket Scheme

Hibernian captain Ian Murray joined up with young people from The Rock Trust who have benefited from the Hibernian Community Foundation’s new ticket scheme at Easter Road on Tuesday to accept a cheque of £5,000 in support of the programme from SPL sponsor Clydesdale Bank.
Since being piloted back in November 2010, the “FootbALL for all” scheme has ensured up to 90 and voluntary organisations from Edinburgh and The Lothians have benefited from over 1,800 SPL match tickets having been donated to the scheme to date.
The ticket scheme was developed on the back of the increased capacity and improved facilities at Easter Road through the opening of the new East Stand at the Stadium. The ticket scheme aims to provide free tickets for 20 local charities or voluntary groups per Category B game, allowing youngsters and volunteers the opportunity to cheer on their heroes. Offering a day out at Easter Road is just the start point for The Hibernian Community Foundation – from the initial Hibs Soccerseats donation the Foundation will look to establish a working relationship with each or voluntary group to build longer term relationships with local community groups.
Stressing the importance of Clydesdale Bank’s sponsorship to the success of the Programme, Hibernian FC Chief Executive, Scott Lindsay said: “The support from Clydesdale Bank is superb.  Without a doubt this partnership will help us to maintain and develop the strong commitment we have with our community as well as providing a great experience for deserving local charities and volunteer groups who may not normally be able to take in a game at Easter Road.”
Irene Swankie, Clydesdale Bank Community Affairs Manager commented on the support for this community initiative: “This is Clydesdale Bank’s fourth year as SPL sponsor and over that time we have witnessed the range of excellent work that each club does to make a positive impact in its local community.  As a business we too aim to develop strong relationships that support local communities, so we are delighted to be able to help Hibernian FC by providing some additional funding to their FootbALL for all programme.”
